It amazes me how Avon's stadium hasn't been updated whatsoever, especially with the good amount of success they've had these last 15-20 years.

These things cost money. Referenda have been focused on classroom expenses recently rather than capital projects. Pretty certain BD's stadium updates a few years back were part of the construction of the Chapel Hill Center.

Because bigger is better?   I still can't figure out how one can sit in the stands and have the score on the scoreboard partially obscured. I suspect it may well be for the home side fans as well.

They built that building around the old building that housed the scoreboard and then didn't move the scoreboard forward.

As an old fart, convenience is a HUGE plus. WC has an elevator to their pressbox. And it is both heated or has AC depending on what is needed. I have never coached a game at Franklin Central, but I know they have an elevator too. For climate control and space, Carmel’s is pretty nice as well.

There are way too many places where getting through the crowd to pressbox is a HIGE P.I.T.A.

Remarkably, the only MIC school without an elevator now is Carmel.

What are the best, worst or most unique stadium you have been to?  It can one that does exist now or was bad but had been updated.

Best: Any of the MIC stadiums. Usually very user-friendly especially since the Lawrences upgraded.

Worst: Fishers. Nothing against the stadium, but the amenities are very outdated.

Unique: St. X. I about died climbing to the top of the home side. Pretty cool stadium.

Really like Southport Cardinal Stadium or whatever car dealership is sponsoring it now.

But is Ritter a Christian school?

(For a good time, bring up the "Are Catholics Christian?" question at your in-laws over dinner.) 😄

My point was that the Catholic schools such as Ritter, Guerin, Roncalli, Central Catholic, Chatard, Scecina, etc. tend to be connected to parishes within a certain diocese of the church. Covenant would not be part of the Catholic system. It's a private Christian school more like a Heritage Christian.

Cathedral is a prep school and Brebeuf is a Jesuit school.

If I'm wrong on this or seem ignorant, I will gladly take the L. .

Covenant wouldn't take students from Ritter normally because it's not another Catholic school. From what I'm hearing on this board, Ritter's been losing students to other Catholic schools.

What are a few on field rules that would to change or altered?

1 pass interference i like to see it change to a spot foul.

2 international grounding I would like to see it called more like college and pro.

3 on kickoffs let the kids if they choice to play it out of the endzone and this a bigger point to this if the receiving team touch the ball in trying to field it and it goes to the endzone it should be a live ball the kicking team should be able to recover it.

You nailed my top two in 1 and 2. I also would liked to see uncatchable be in the definition in high school.

Question about this: how will it make said relegated team better?  They'll still play the same regular season and only 1-3 games in their new Sectional.

and it will cause a potential l log jam in the new class as new sectionals will need to be created.  If a school needs to go down, it should be their decision as it was Cathedral's to go up.

Might be an incentive to play a tough schedule, truthfully. That would make you better for the tournament. Maybe teams might sandbag? I don't know. Just spitballing.

  7. Let's say that by the competition factor that 6A would have the 32 most successful programs over a given period by some mathematical algorithm. Then 5A would have the next 32 and then so on. I guess the only thing you might fight is the perception that some of the low schools would be seen as "losers" or something. It might also have the unintended consequence of the "rich get even richer."
