  1. Well yea! Who the hell knows? But to say they didn’t benefit? You may be jumpin to conclusions
  2. I agree, no point in disrupting a SAC conference. They are in their own little world. They can dominate there in the Fort. Why or who wants any more? This coming from the little sister. NHHS might just ride up and bite big brother in the ass one day.
  3. The rivalry started when Myron moriority was hired at south from up north. He was a star athlete at St Joseph in Rensselaer. Then coached up north at lake central, if I’m not mistaken. Maybe not. But anyway he came to Bloomington and went up against his high school coach at Martinsville. Was a big rivalry game for several years, with both programs producing multiple all state players and D1 recruits. Bloomington north never has had the coaching to create a good rivalry. They came into existence in ‘74. So martinsville was always the challenge for Bloomington High School up to that point in football and basketball. Not so much now.
  4. The reputation comes from Indiana’s own conference. Indiana deserved and earned the right to play for the Big championship. Only to have the ADs dismiss the Hoosiers as the step child of the conference. No wonder the National committee didn’t give them any respect, I don’t blame them, he’ll Iu’s own conference threw them under the bus.
  5. Still my take on the situation.
  6. Lafayette to Columbus, then go west young man to Bloomington then on to Terre Haute, then back north to Lafayette. That's a pretty big swath through the state. Could of, at one time, been the second best conference in the state. I guess still would have the potential to be now.
  7. We shall see, I’m not convinced Indiana can win this game. They have a good chance to. Big consequences if Indiana loses to a team with a losing record. And we are Not going to gain much more than what we already have gained so far this year, if we in fact do Win.
  8. Typical, adds nothing but conjecture and snide remarks.
  9. Let’s “F” Indiana!
  10. Yes. Kelly. He stated if the game was to be played in California, speaking for his players, he would turndown the invitation if the parents of the players were no allowed to attend their sons game. He was interviewed on the tube.
  11. And Big Tom shouldn’t let his ego get in the way of how he and the whole program got rudely disrespected.
  12. It a no win for an up and coming program. It will not hurt Indiana in the least to not play. USC and several high profile programs have for various reasons declined this year. Hell Kelly was turning down his game at the rose bowl. So in a let’s snub Indiana year, Big ten and bowl selection committee, I’m all for a turndown and regroup with penix for next year. Or we can keep getting push around like the step child we are acting like here. Any body see Fred Glass’s take on this? Man he really stuck his neck out, calling out the Big ten hierarchy, steeling Indiana’s HS players, and keeping Indiana beat down. Im not going to be on the side of allowing The Program to be purposefully disrespected.
  13. If IU wins , they won’t climb in any of the polls. If they lose, drop out of the top 20. this isn’t like losing to Auburn or Florida or LSU. Indiana should pass on this menial bowl invite
  14. Back to topic, Indiana is playing a no win game here. Mississippi is a good team. They put up 21 on alabama and Arkansas. Theyput up 28 against auburn, 35 on Florida and 48 on LSU. All losses but still. And any where from 40 to 60 points in their wins. A win by Indiana and everyone will say that they should have beat a team with a losing record. A loss , that could well happen ,and then IU drops out of the top 20 at least. Terrible call on IU’s part to accept ,a non top 6 bowl game.
  15. Pixxy dust did it for Indiana!
  16. Pixxy Dust. Is all I got out of this tirade . Lol. Pixxy Dust.
  17. Hi lites -highlights kind of the same. I like how in indiana ,some county maintenance trucks have, “whatever” county Hi-way Dept., on the side of their trucks.
  18. Not much different normally from any program, other than the elites in football.
  19. Yes in Indiana’s situation, “turning around “means just what they did this year. They have beaten the teams they were supposed to ,and won some close games that have always eluded them for several years past. The crowd isn’t calling for championships here. Just respectability. So they are on the tight track. Keeping it up will determine whether they win championships or not.
