Brohm would be wise to parlay his success this season into a jump to the NFL.

Well , you maybe on to something here.
Brohm has been up and down at Purdue, but he may be righting the ship? But Does he have NFL ambitions? Purdue is like Indiana, for prospective coaches, a tough job to take.

Let’s not pretend that depth was the issue in blowout losses to Iowa, Penn State, OSU, and Michigan.

I might be willing to give you Cincinnati and they probably beat Maryland and maybe MSU.

This was an outfit with a ceiling of 6-7 wins from the beginning.

The strength of schedule tells the story.

Looking it up, the only question is the 4 starting o linemen. The only other starters still playing are Hendershot and Fryfogle

On defense, Mullen and Taylor, the starting corners from last year are out. The entire D line is out now, and McFadden is the only LB still playing that was a returning starter.

So out of 18 returning starters, only a handful are still playing. Depth was a known issue coming into the season, and it is showing now; especially in the defensive backfield.

Thanks for the footwork. You and anyone that follows the program knows that depth has plagued IU for more than this year. Not uncommon for the have nots in college football, but it seems to me that Indiana gets in trouble with this more than any team I’ve ever seen. And I guess it will continue here.

So it looks like LCC will be meeting up with Scecina in regionals.  It's been a 9-year wait, but these two will meet again albeit it won't be in LOS.  These two met in both 2011 and 2012 at LOS with LCC winning both including the last meeting, 14-0.  Both teams were also in the first class of SF bumped teams, with Scecina being the poster school for teams being bumped, but not having a blue ring in the process.

This is a game of teams that have a history of being-there-and-doing-that although Scecina's been a fixture in 2A since the move via SF and also have a couple of state titles in 2A from  previous enrollment numbers back in the 90s.  LCC's no stranger to post-season play.  Fun fact:  LCC's the only Indiana high school to make 5 or more visits to state and never come home with a red ring.  LCC's last foray into 2A saw them drop a second round sectional match by 4 points to eventual 2A runner-up, Tipton, in 2013 and a semi-final by 3 points to eventual 2A champ RCHS in 2014 before returning back to 1A in 2015 to a state title.

Scecina comes off a sectional championship beating previously-unbeaten Centerville.  They have losses this season to 2A Speedway, whom LCC just beat last night for their sectional title, 2A Heritage Christian, and 1A Lutheran who is likely the favorite to represent 1A South.  LCC comes off and three-quarter back-and-forth mixed with a shutout 4th in their 56-35 win over Speedway.  LCC also has losses this season to 3A Tri-West, 3A West Lafayette, and two loses to 2A Tipton.  Calpreps says Scecina by 7, but the game's being held at LCC, so I'm thinking maybe closer to a 3-point cushion for Scecina.  LCC will benefit tremendously if they can bring that defense that played in the 4th quarter last night.

    Thanks, (no more reactions)

This reminds me of "back in the day" when I was known as "Rebeldad"!  Had to change my name because we are no longer the Rebels!  Had a former Roncalli Player come up to me last night saying a guy he works with who went to Cathedral said, "do you know whatever happened to that A-hole Rebeldad on the Digest".  I had a good laugh at that.  This is the first time in 20 years that I do not have a son who is either playing or coaching for Roncalli.   Great game last night that was much closer than the score.   Respect that Roncalli and Chatard have for each other is great to watch.

Ran out of reactions on this post. But boy it sure can apply to a lot of passionate fans here. Good post.

Spoilermakers 40, #3 Michigan State 29.  Lee Corso is probably having another shot of Metamucil because he predicted this.

And Corso always said never bet against the Catholics!

This isn’t the first time 62 pulled crap like that. He had to be kicked out of a scrimmage at SA this summer for doing the same thing against Luers.

Ok, so old #62 huh. At it again? Well not to say you maybe right or wrong it takes two to tangle , or is that tango? I get that confused.
But to take that ,and put it on today’s society? This takes to new level!

I had a friend text me the initial sequence with the shove in the back that started the melee. Then saw the video of the “fight”. It just saddens me to see such events. I have no idea of history of the two teams, mood of the game, etc. This whole thing just seems a microcosm of society today. Sports are suppose to be a diversion, something enjoyable to entertain us, part of the educational process for the participants. These kind of events just puts a black eye on everything.

The IHSAA has a history of dealing with these sorts of things pretty harshly and I’m sure they will be in the office bright and early this morning dealing with this situation. I just think it’s time we as a society stand up and say “this type of behavior is unacceptable under any circumstances”.  I am in no way attempting to place blame on anyone in particular, I’m sure there’s plenty of blame to go around.

    “Microcosm of society today”

BS,Not the first in history or will it be the last ! Why you bringing all this social analytical commentary crap on here?Tempers flared, neither team was backing down from the Bully. End of story.

    Redemption on Bluejay Drive

Written, edited, and dictated by Spanky Harper

Spanky’s fiero has been redlined since about 9pm tonight.  makin the victory rounds all over the greater judson area.  my first stop was the oasis where i collected $14 dollars in pull-tabs and got a lapdance from an old bar whore who back in ‘92 had a face like Melanie Griffith but tonight she looked more like andy griffith.  after a lap through san pierre I hit up my second ex-wife for a few moments of joy and months of subsequent shame.  I burnt up the denham blacktop all the way back to toto.  I cut the lights and crept up the drive to Ross Rattkey’s.  It seemed there was some kind of family function going on because bo, luke, duke, shane, and tyger were there.  I cranked my alpine stereo to maxxx and blasted poison’s nuttin but a good time.  That shit rips.

Few things in this life are as sweet as winning a sexual championship.  I knew it was going to be a magical night when i saw coach cox in the crowd.  I was buying a pretzel and a sausage when a silver haired saint appeared.  coach cox came up to me and said “spanky how ya been you sumbich?”  tonight, Aldric Harper, no relation, was magical.  He lead them jays to winning there 14th sectional title.  Cheyanne Allen ran wild as usual.  the fraziers, the Bensuns, and the Rattkey’s all made big plays for them jays throughout the night.   It was total team domination from start to finish.

    Spankin by the numbers:

0- Number of times the jays have lost to culver under coach lampert

2- Number of sectional titles for coach lampert

3- Number of ex-wives for Spanky

6- Number of times the bluejays have beat culver under coach lampert

14- Number of sectional titles for the bluejays

69- Number of days since Spanky's last DUI

    Nice take.
