Grants are not Scholarships Division 3 football cannot give out Athletic Scholarships, they can however, give GRANT AID Packages to come to their school based on academics along with athletics Should Division 3 athletes get scholarships? DIII colleges are not allowed to offer athletic scholarships and the amount of practice time a coach can have is reduced; athletes here are competing for the love of competition. Schools can and do give financial aid through leadership grants and needs based financial aid but they are not the full rides. While Division III schools do not offer athletics scholarships, 75 percent of Division III student-athletes receive some form of merit or need-based financial aid. If you are planning to attend a Division III school, you do not need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.

Portage Job Open
Coach Nowlin replied to Boilernation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Did I miss something?? How can someone love the hire that is not even a "hire" pure reckless speculation Because 1 old retired guy on Twitter is trying to stay relevant in the local HS sports world puts out something reckless in my opinion, everyone believes it is a done deal. Once again Shameful. I will get the last word on this until Portage actually announces something....... rest is pure reckless speculation -
I lost my battle for that. Wait to you hear this..... Hit every box on the qualification application. Was denied, why? I had an outstanding Loan Debt Prior to October 1st, 1998. I started Purdue August 24th 1998, so I argued with them and said, so you are telling me, because I started school about 40 days prior to some arbitrary date, October 1st, 1998, that disqualified me for my remaining loans to be forgiven. Haven't tried since.

I do not believe Mr. Hamnik enjoyed my response to his reporting ..... which is odd since he is no longer a reporter for newspaper, so not sure what he was trying to gain on "reporting" Thought he would be better than that from his long career -

My friend Coach Blaine Durhum had a serious medical event a few days ago and is currently recovery right now in the hospital. He has been coaching at South Newton for many many years and been part of our board for a long time as well. Scary stuff but sounds like he will be ok for right now. Feel free to drop him a line here @CoachDurham in the PM box or here. Wishing well buddy!!

Do not fret, IU still has Ball St and UCONN to soften the blow from opening up in Madison. Not sure UCONN will have anybody left to field a team in 2020 number of transfer portal players is up to 20 or so https://www.courant.com/sports/uconn-football/hc-sp-uconn-football-transfer-list-players-20191212-20191212-jx45cp4vvnfupahy2gwhab23om-story.html

3rd year that Purdue and Region 4 has linked up to provide a great opportunity to tour the facilities at Purdue, get up close look at Boilermakers spring ball practice followed up by H.S. and College coaches, including Purdue coaches clinic sessions. $30 a coach, $150 for your entire staff. Purdue just does not send 2 coaches, their entire staff comes and hangs out and talks ball with everyone there. If you haven't been, worth checking out. Region IV Clinic STD 2020.pdf

IFCA Region 4 All Region Team
Coach Nowlin replied to Coach Nowlin's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Our Region has decided to recognized athletes who have signed to play Division 1 or other football opportunities and military opportunities that prevents them to be able to participate in the game in the summer. Its a great gesture to those kids to recognize their accomplishments without having to use one of the 3 nominations you get along with taking up a spot for a kid who could potentially play in the game. Region 4 has done this last 3 years or so. -
