Great matchup! I'd rather see things like this than teams going out of state. In a way, a format like ESPN's bracket buster could be fun: pair up schools nowhere close to each other. Lafayette Jeff-Bloomington South, New Pal-Homestead, Lowell-Chatard, even a Contraction Classic of South Newton-Elwood. And if anyone has the temerity to a suggest neutral site, my hand will penetrate the screen a slap said suggester silly...

I guess you're a Carmel...or a South Newton. Then again, I did make the move to Lowell a few years ago and from what I hear, the Devils field a decent squad. Not really affluent, not at all private, they just enjoy the game without the political musings as it should be. Not one for the success factor, never has been.

I want to win the division and we need all the breathing room we can get: Washington--sure 3-9, but you never know Chicago--they actually think they can make the playoffs Detroit--the game at Lambeau earlier this season was way to close, but Stafford is not playing Minnesota--if we do lose a game, this will be it

Sounds pretty dire. But if the gap is widening and the students are revolting, why just the HCC? Wouldn’t their interests, as they should be, be best served in a smaller conference such as the Circle City?

They probably did. But if not, so what? Given their location on the northeast side, the MIC is a very good fit for them.

Exactly! All they can do is help. I’d rather have a well-seasoned coach and hungry players any day of the week.

About 3 million students go to Carmel, yet they can only field 11 at a time. Half as many attend Center Grove, but yet only 11 are permitted on the field at a time. The same does for Adams Central, Batesville, Delta, Elwood, Floyd Central, Gary West, Homestead, Indianapolis (too many too mention😉), Jasper, Kokomo, Lawrence Central, Monroe Central, North Knox, Oregon-Davis (if they had a football team) Penn, Reitz, Southport, Terre Haute North (and South), Union County, Valparaiso, Warren Central, and Zionsville.

6 classes are enough. I know I’ve said this before, but I have seen no compelling argument to make a change. I think the “get better” approach is the way to do things. Everybody should not get a trophy, the ones that work the hardest should.

It seems like the goal posts are being moved. A separate class was created for the largest schools in the state and it should remain that way, not everybody gets a trophy...
