Guess what: everything is cyclical (how many times have I said this?!?), the Athenians, Bison, Bulldogs, Mustangs, Rebels, and everybody else having trouble right now will be back!!!
Is Kiel still killing it? Although they're a very small school (1A or 2A if they were a few hundred miles southeast), they really updated their facilities and were undefeated. A friend of mine is on their school board and was a driving force on the upgrades, not an easy thing to do in a small town which is about the size of Rensselaer....
Who would have thought? Then again the Bears are experiencing their predictable collapse, Dallas is nothing special, but the Panthers and Saints could make things interesting, a long way to go...
Gulf shores I hope. I have family in Huntsville which is really not an ideal vacation spot other than the space center. 5-1 is shocking to me as well, and now the gullible optimist in me thinks we can run the table. Then again, we need more WR production.
As I think about it, not all of Illinois is miserable. I really enjoy the western part of the state (Galena and the Quad Cities), northern Lake County, and points south such as Carbondale and Effingham.
Having the Lafayette schools in a conference with Bloomington, Columbus could work. The travel might even ease up a bit as Anderson, Muncie, and Richmond aren’t exactly next door...
I went to mapquest: Lafayette to both Bloomington and Columbus is a little over 100 miles. Muncie is also a little over the century mark, while Richmond is 135. I kind of like this idea...
Not too happy bit this particular thread. Winning games can be tough given injuries, the general youth of the team, among other factors. But these kids are out there fighting, let's not make fun of their efforts.
