  1. Glad to hear your numbers are up! My beef with Chipotle is that some burrito jockeys do not know how to properly roll one...
  2. No wonder shorts were on sale at Nordstrom Rack...
  3. Swell song by Eddie Rabbitt. Also could be the weather conditions tonight in NWI. To make matters worse, I saw at least 5 lightning strikes as I piloted the Gippermobile from Q (great BBQ) south to Casa de Gipper. Stay safe out there tonight, fellow Rats.
  4. All I know is that sports have been the “thing” to do at high school forever. Play or watch the game or not. Your call. Gipper out.
  5. In other words, dazzle me. Leave comments of contraction to phonics class and status quo, quid pro quo, and e pluribus unum to Latin (of which, my niece and nephew went to the Latin School of Chicago, where Romans was their nickname—pretty cool, huh?)
  6. I stand corrected: Zionsville plays Hamilton Southeastern this evening. HSE happens to be nicknamed the Royals, which is a pretty swell handle. Others include the Mount Vernon Marauders and Tri-County Cavaliers which I consider unique. As for college ball, I’m a little concerned with tomorrow afternoon’s Purdue-Minnesota tilt for the following reasons: A) Sindelar’s status is unknown, B) Minnesota’s running game could harm the Boilers, and C) Purdue’s relative youth remains a concern
  7. Right on cue. No talk of jet sweeps, safety blitzes, even fumblerooskis or any other type of gadget play. Got a cool nickname? Let’s hear it! What did you think of the Packers-Eagles game last night? I think the refs were next-level bad, but that’s just me. Any insight for any games tonight? I like Lowell over Highland, South Newton or Covington, and Zionsville to come out victorious (but forget their opponent). That's my contribution to this forum, have a good day. It is? Hadn’t noticed😁
  8. They can post all they want, free speech and all. I just think they’re being a little too political and/or self-righteous. In their hearts of hearts, I’m sure they mean well, but most posters on here (myself included) are here for information related to the game, which I have a unrequited love for, as opposed to some of their musings. Am I telling them to take there talents elsewhere? No, but a toning down in rhetoric would be a refreshing change.
  9. Need I say more? Attention brainiacs, this is high school football...
  10. We all have our own viewpoints as to the way things should be. But enough of this crap...
  11. I don’t think the Student Council teaches jet sweeps or safety blitzes, etc.
  12. Not in the fall, cross country is not a big draw😉 Good to know.
  13. Fair point. I just happened to go a little off the deep end when my alma mater became involved. Although it’s true SN isn’t winning too many, OK—any games right now, I don’t take kindly to outsiders deciding how to run the program. As I have always maintained, athletic success at SN is cyclical, as it is at any rural school. We can’t continually add 50+ great athletes like the big schools. Games also are a place for community members to come together, and provide many opportunities for student involvement, i. e. bands, cheerleaders, etc. Athletics plays a big part in the fabric of Kentland, Goodland, and Brook—anybody who wants to take that away needs to consider the whole equation.
  14. To put it simply, I have a love of the game. But like so many elements in today’s society, this forum (or at least this topic) has become too political. It’s not up to us to decide who gets to play and with whom.
  15. No, it’s not. Using W-L solely for contraction is insignificant. That's all I meant...
  16. Why penalize a program for a losing streak? Look at Northwestern University. For a few years, the Wildcats didn’t win a single game. But with a change in coaching, they made it to Rose Bowl and are still regarded as pretty good.
  17. The way I see it, no one is forcing these kids to play, they do so on their own volition. Unfortunately, they don’t always get the desired result. That can and will change over time...
