    BTW, sports fans, South Newton happens to field a middle school team (2 or 3 probably), so there’s interest. As I have said countless times before, athletics there are very cyclical. I’m sure no one thought they should give up when Eric Watt led the mighty Rebels to the Semi-State not too long ago...

    The Rebels are not the lone team in the state to have not won a game yet. Examples include fellow Midwest Conference member Tri-County, Class A member Madison-Grant, all the way up to 5A big boy Munster. By their futile records, are they also goners?

    Well, after the Rose Bowl, of course--but not for awhile. I actually wouldn't mind seeing his brother, Brian or Nick Holt as coach should he leave.

    Let them talk--JB's not going anywhere. Besides, do you think a blueblood like USC or Auburn will hire a coach with a .500 winning percentage? I think a lot of people talk crap just because they don't have anything logical to say.

    I like the tougher slate. Purdue needs to have at least to Power 5 opponentents every year. I know schedules for the next 10 years or do have been determined, but playing the directional schools (Eastern Illinois for one) does very little prep work for the coming league schedule. you are next level annoying.

    It was great to see George playing hard. I also think Cornel Jones stepped up well in replacing Bailey. Purdue will be fine.

    Game’s over. We have an extra week to get ready for Minnesota who isn’t actually setting the world on fire. Come think of it, very few in the league are.
