  1. This just in: players make plays, coaches don’t.
  2. I thought week one was a good one. Both Purdue and IU looked great, Wisconsin played like, well, Wisconsin, and Michigan thumped Minnesota. Ohio State surprised no one by smoking Nebraska, although I thought their last touchdown showed a tremendous lack of class. Sure, Northwestern smoked Maryland, which was a little surprising. As for Rutgers and Sparty, I don’t think the loss can be pinned on their coach.
  3. Hi fill-in was pretty good, though.
  4. Xander Horvath, your plane is boarding.
  5. “Hold my beer.” —David Bell Make that a Clausthaler as he is a minor.
  6. Southwood over Northfield 36-0 and there is only one remaining Midwest conference team playing next week: the South Newton Rebels they got a bye and will play North Judson who eked out a 54-0 win over West Central.
  7. It’s the tournament—arguing is senseless—good luck along the way.
  8. Getting it done. Lowell got up on Morton 14-0 which is where it stands with a few minutes to go in the 3rd.
  9. A few surprises, Highland over Griffith stands out the most. Then again, this game might be emblematic of why GHS booked a few years ago...
  10. Games are not transitive. Congratulations to Andrean on their win, but that doesn’t mean squat.
  11. Sectional 17–Lowell will give Hobart everything they can handle. But the winner could easily advance to the State Finals. Sectional 28–KV is not there yet. New Prairie will win big.
  12. It’s unfortunate all of this last minute closing is going on. Then again, I don’t feel the administrators arrived at their decisions on a whim. They are giving the virus the respect that is so badly needed.
  13. There is risk in everything, don’t be naïve. Gary West has their work cut out for them. Sectional 17 is stacked.
  14. I never meant to be negative but am glad we’re going forward.
  15. It’s not just the players. Coaches, support staff, and fans are far from immune. Actually they’re at higher risk. Nor do I.
