  1. As an alumnus, time to brag: In addition to Coach Miiler, Greg Logan (A. J. Kent class of 1966 or 67) was a phenomenal football player for the Blue Devils (thereby making Kentland BDP) and later Butler. He is also the father of Sam who was lights out good for the Rebels before playing at ISU. A few years later came Eric Watt, who was probably the best QB in South Newton history. He led the Rebels to the Semi-State where they fell to Sheridan. If this doesn’t support my cyclical argument, nothing will.
  2. A big thing. I like things more centralized. Maybe one out of area game per season, but keeping in local is the right thing to do.
  3. Possibly, as there a lot of alumni from South Newton with the Miiller surname. It was originally Müller, but that was wrecked at Ellis Island.
  4. Great points, and sadly, none of our schemes will come to fruition. It is fun to plan it out, though
  5. I like that the Devils and What’s -their-faces are hooking up in the regular season.
  6. Not really. Having schools in a. closer geographic footprint as opposed to going all over the state is a much better option.
  7. There shouldn’t be any talk. The Evansville schools need to play each other in all sports, while schools in the hinterland need to find what’s in their best interest. This applies all over the state. Sure, it would be great to have a Premier League of football teams, but other sports also matter.
  8. Thanks, a bit before my days of donning the Cardinal and Platinum.
  9. With that, Jeff and Harrison’s first salvo in the HCC wasn’t all that successful (nor was it for John T. McCutcheon HS). I also don’t think their best option is playing PP schools from Indianapolis.
  10. Indeed it would. As I said in on another thread, pare down the NCC, add a school or two (potentially) and let CI figure it out for themselves. Adding schools further away than Terre Haute is no bueno.
  11. Hard telling. He didn’t exactly set the world on fire at Bloomington South and his teams at Franklin County were average at best.
  12. Math failed me as my proposal would leave the Mid-North League with 7. I did forget about Tech in Indianapolis, but never felt they were the right fit. So, there’s Western and West Lafayette (although they’re probably content in the Hoosier), so there’s also Westfield or potentially Pike or Noblesville.
  13. I’m extremely wary of superconferences as they would apply to all sports, not just football. Therefore, adding the Lafayette schools to the 812 menagerie probably isn’t the best idea. Why not put Marion and Richmond in the Hoosier Heritage and re-name the North Central the Mid North with Jeff, Harrison, McCutcheon, Kokomo, Logansport, and new members Frankfort and Lebanon?
  14. Interesting proposal. Why is McCutcheon being excluded?
  15. Good luck! New Prairie is a solid program.
  16. Absolutely! CP isn’t know as the hub for nothing...
  17. I just like the Crown Point community over Tri-Town. I think that translates into more support, etc. and the need to make the team as good as it can be.
  18. That works, too. Well, not at Vanderbilt.
  19. Furthermore, did the Coachmen (:)) reap the benefit of playing a down NIC this year?
  20. I agree. A bunch of mediocre players put together don’t make a world beater overnight. This will take some time.
  21. Yep, the Tigers didn’t really geaux anywhere this year... SEC: So, Everyone Cheats...
  22. Back to DT’s very good question, I think Crown Point is the better job.
  23. I agree, CP is quite expensive, but many areas in St. John, Schererville, and Dyer are as well. I just like CP’s feel.
