A team has limitations on when they can start playing the second or third string due to the silly rules IHSAA has on quarters played per week? I did not understand this when I first started attending games in Indiana and voiced criticism of the coach until it was explained to me.

Wondered that myself. I think he may be complimenting Brownstown for not running up the score. Not sure.

In Sectional 39, on the upper side of the bracket, Clarksville and Providence are only 1 mile apart while Eastern (Pekin) plays Union County and travels 138 miles for that game. Eastern’s trip may be the longest for a sectional game in the first round. Anyone know of a longer trip for first round game?

And Paoli barely beats Indy Washington. Strange night of football.

This is an ignorant post at best, and at worst it is moronic. If you had bothered reading the article you would know that Illinois week 9 is a playoff week. If you were referring to Indiana week 9 you have no factual basis to make such a statement. Name a team that you know who forfeited a game because they were going to miss the playoffs. I don’t know of it happening, even in the cluster days. This shows a tremendous disconnect from the players, coaches, and fans that I know. It does help me to understand you tilting at windmills while talking about your pie in the sky “Contraction Doctrine”.

WWFan thanks for the “eyes” last night. Wish I could have witnessed that one. ( I wouldn’t wish this “bug” on my worst enemy) Hopefully we can continue this “one game at a time” march thru the schedule. How about a contest where we all predict our teams total points over/under each week and for each point we are off we donate $1 to GID. We could call it the Put Up or Shut Up contest. If you are off by more than 25 points you are blocked from commenting for the next week.

Good point Coach! It is a recent development. Interesting that it continues even when the coaching fraternity corrects misstatements and show each other respect as you all do. Thanks for commenting, I was beginning to think I was the only one who saw it. Thought maybe it was my bias as a fan showing. Oh well, we will know in a few weeks if it’s just a down year for the conference, or if our injuries kept us from our full potential, or we make a habit of running up the score, OR if you really can build a team in the middle of a cornfield. Personally I’ll take JQWL, btownqbcoach, and others assessments as accurate until proven otherwise.
