It's not going to change as long as fans keep buying tickets. The only way to get the attention of the NCAA and/or the member Universities is to hit their pocketbooks. The players could do it if they started going G league or Europe en masse. Just don't see that happening.

This generation (Lord, I sound more like my Dad everyday) doesn't understand or take pride in the fact they GET to represent the name on the front of the jersey. There is definitely a chemistry issue with this team. Maybe a coaching issue. Although I'm a firm believer a coach needs 3-4 years to get his own players in the system. Not ready to jump ship but deeply disappointed. I'm inclined to think it is too much emphasis on the offense going thru only Romeo or Juwan. When Juwan went down with the injury a while ago, they seemed to respond by everyone looking for the open man instead of everyone looking for Romeo or Juwan. But what do I know I'm just a guy who buys a ticket once in a while.

I know this has probably been discussed on the previous forum prior to THE CRASH, but for the record, what is the action, phrase, good luck charm, or jinx move that you either have to do OR make sure no one does to insure your teams success. Steve Alford was known for socks, shorts, 1,2,3 swish at the free throw line. Some announcers refrain from saying the obvious about a no-hitter in progress. What is your sure fire winning streak stretcher? Personally I wear the same Tennessee Titans cap to every game and will not wear it anywhere else as long as we are winning. Once we suffer a defeat then I can wear it elsewhere. Weird, I know. My wife thinks I'm certifiably insane because of it. Tell us your team phobia unless of course that would jinx your team. 😉

DT would make a great coach! He runs a screen and gets the defense to relax a bit. He comes back with the end around. Then wait......it looks like a jet sweep....but at the last minute, the ole CONTRACTION trap play right up the gut. Gotcha! Except in his scenario as soon as it didn't work 1 or 2 times in a row, he would "contract" that play out of the playbook. No DT, Dugger shouldn't have. It is a school by school decision and there are thousands of young men raised in Indiana who are grateful that they had the opportunity to play this game regardless of wins or losses or final scores. Why? Because they had the opportunity to learn life skills that are still helping them today, teamwork, overcoming obstacles, friendship, camaraderie, etc. I know because my son is one of those kids. He is now a Seaman 2nd class on a submarine somewhere in the Pacific defending this great country. The last time he spoke to me, he related a story of being in a tough situation on the boat and hearing his coaches voice about "never quitting on a play". A 1A coach who said "if a kid is willing to show up and work hard we'll find a place for him to play". Football literally changed my son's life and his future. He never started, usually never got in except for mop up duty, was injured and never played a down his senior year, still showed up for every game, and belonged to something bigger than himself. I have been a read only guest for the past two years on this site. So I know you will offer your usual list of "reasons" why contraction is the end all, be all. But now I am a registered user and as soon as they tell me how to be a sponsor I will respond with a check. I appreciate you passing the baton, we'll take it from here. Respect Brownstown, North Harrison, and in conference foe Perry Central except for PC's public announcer ( another Commodooooooore FIRST DOWN!!! Rubs my fur the wrong way) their fans are loud and supportive yet courteous and travel well. Despise Paoli Not sure this reflects our players and coaches feelings, just my take from interacting with their fans.

JQWL, Knowing some of the challenges you have faced over the last few years, thanks for persevering and continuing to offer the opportunity to the young men of CCHS. My own son, though never a starter, is still applying life skills that he learned at WW. If just one young man learns the value of teamwork and that he has the ability to overcome challenges, you have performed you assignment well. Coaches coach, players play, fans cheer!

My expectations for this year are that we eliminate some of the youthful mistakes from last year. With the returning starters from last year we should have plenty of offensive options to keep the defense on their heels. Defensively I hope we can play shut-down defense all the way through our schedule like we historically have handled the early games each year. Not a coach, not a player, just my view from the stands.
