  1. So, what is worst? Holding on to the video on the chance you’d see Northridge in the playoffs … and then using it to knock their QB out of the game. Having advance scouts video future opponents’ sideline signals. Having private investigators accumulate evidence — some of it arguably obtained illegally — and then turning it into the NCAA to get your rival sanctioned for cheating. Who knew that football could create such moral dilemmas?
  2. Correct. The Mercy Rule is not in effect for the State Finals. But I seem to recall one game that was 50-0 at halftime.
  3. I’ll be at Mishawaka Friday night, observing the 2-time state championship crew assigned to the game. Really looking forward to this one. I have a lot of great memories of games at Steele.
  4. Eagles have outscored their first two playoff opponents 77-0. They get Canton McKinley next. Pretty nice when your home field is the Hall of Fame Stadium. If I recall, I spent my 16th birthday playing Canton McKinley at what was then known as Fawcett Stadium.
  5. Human nature. Why did Nixon employ the plumbers? Happens all the time.
  6. Strictly speaking, this changes nothing. There is an exception in the roughing the kicker rule for contact on the kicker that is “unavoidable because it is not reasonably certain a kick was going to be made.” If the kicker is simply taking a few steps to the side before he kicks the ball, that does not divest him of the protection afforded by the rule. The onus is always on the defense to avoid contact with the kicker if possible.
  7. I’ll look at the Hudl video. But that crew gets the benefit of the doubt from me until proven otherwise.
  8. I hope not. The sport is bigger than Harbaugh, Day, or any of the gutless wonders at the NCAA.
  9. College football becomes asymmetrical warfare. Who would have thought it? I guess Day’s reasoning is if he can’t beat them on the field, he’s got to find another way.
  10. How many people on here know who you’re talking about? How many people know what he’s referring to when he talks about “the Hun?” 🤣😂😅
  11. Now the plot really thickens. This is going to make Nov. 25 even more interesting than usual. The Buckeyes and Big Weasels have no love for one another under the best of circumstances. But this sort of thing makes for real bad blood. If I were assigned to officiate that game, I would be really concerned about preventing some kind of ugly incident. Michigan Reportedly Has Evidence Its Sign Stealing Scandal Was Uncovered And Leaked By Private Investigators With Ties To Ryan Day So it seems Michigan has proof that its sign-stealing operation was brought to light by private investigators linked to Ohio State coach Ryan Day. And I guess they're really pissed off about this? The entire operation was apparently the worst-kept secret in the Big Ten and it's supposed to be some sort of shocking revelation that evidence of the cheating ring was found by Michigan's arch nemesis? I guess there could be some sort of recourse if it ends up being proven that Connor Stalions's computer was accessed illegally, but having evidence you were caught cheating isn't exactly a flex. Now it does make the story that much better and more ridiculous that Day seemingly hired his PI brother to uncover all of this, but it doesn't change the fact that Michigan was the school cheating for years when it magically transformed into one of the best programs in the country. Someone was going to blow the lid on this eventually. This year's Michigan-Ohio State game is going to be one of the must-watch sporting events of all-time, though. I'm actually glad UM has been running this scheme for the content it has already given us and that which is certain to come in the near future. The rest of this season is going to be fun.
  12. These “questionable” refs worked the state finals in 2016 & 2020. I worked my last year on the field with this crew. They know what they’re doing.
  13. I have to see this. At what point in the game did these things occur? If a kick does not go beyond the neutral zone, it can be recovered and advanced by either team.
  14. I’m sure @Impartial_Observeris in the house. What say ye?
  15. Halftime, Knox and Glenn lighting it up. Redskins lead 38-19 at the half.
  16. Glenn answers. Try fails. Knox 16 John Glenn 6 1:43 of the 1st.
  17. Knox intercepts and takes advantage of the short field to punch it in and get another 2 pt. try. Knox 16 - John Glenn 0 5:11 of the 1st.
  18. Knox takes the opening kickoff and drives 80 yds. in 3:46. 2 pt. try successful. 8-0 over John Glenn.
  19. He’s got to be just about out of tolerance for NCAA foolishness.
  20. I think there are more than a few games tonight that are rematches of regular season games. I’m going to one, as Knox hosts John Glenn. What are some of the others, and how did the regular season game turn out? Knox handled Glenn by a comfortable margin in mid-season.
  21. @temptation, would you be willing to bet an amount of money that really mattered to you that Harbaugh will be the HFC at Michigan on opening day of the 2024 season?

    IU BBall

I was in Bloomington from the Fall of 1974 to the Spring of 1977, probably the best 3 seasons for IU basketball. Scott May was the best player in college basketball. Benson a dominant force in the middle. But the engine that made the whole thing run was Quinn Buckner.
  23. Such that alleged “sign-stealing” could not have been even a small factor. That’s why I referred to it as crap. But you know the meatheads are going to say that, and not just at ND.
