  1. @Sparty doesn’t understand that it’s not the individual I’m defending. It’s the Constitution. Even the most low life criminal is entitled to due process. It’s called the “American way.”
  2. Yet another wrong decision on your part. You’re on a roll. You might want to try thinking for yourself instead of just parroting the party line. Read the cases yourself. They have a nice synopsis before the opinion itself. And the people advising POTUS are just telling him what he wants to hear. That’s why his policies keep drawing injunctions all over the country.
  3. I don’t know where you got that idea, but you’re dead wrong. It’s been well established since Shaughnessy v. U.S. ex rel. Mezei, 345 U.S. 206 (1953), that undocumented aliens are entitled to a due process hearing before deportation. The Court held in Plyler v. Davis in 1982, and in several cases since, that the due process and equal protection clauses of the 14th Amendment apply to undocumented immigrants. Sparty: Often wrong … but never in doubt.
  4. Always love a shout out to the legendary @CoachJunctionBoy.
  5. Congratulations to all who have participated in this discussion to date. A discussion about home field advantage and not one person has mentioned officiating. 🤣😂
  6. One thing that jumps out at me when looking at the Bears’ activity in free agency and the draft is that they actually have a plan. Poles and Johnson are clearly on the same page: trying to build what the Lions have done in Detroit under Campbell. It’s been a while since I thought they had anything like a coherent plan in Halas Hall.
  7. We’re in Wonderland and they’re the Queen of Hearts: “Sentence first! Verdict afterward!”
  8. You may be right. You may be wrong. But one thing is indisputable: Mr. Garcia has not had the due process the Constitution mandates. That’s the more important point, and the one the Trump administration keeps trying to avoid. The goal is a worthwhile one. But it has to be done according to the law. That’s what makes us the “good guys.”
  9. Sounds like an “end justifies the means” argument. America doesn’t work that way. At least, it’s not supposed to.
  10. A properly marked artificial surface has “shadow lines” going through logos, lettering, etc. They’re not really visible unless you’re on the playing surface.
  11. Purdue’s “Boilermaker Express” apparently crossed the centerline, resulting in a fatal collision. No truth to the rumor that Nitro was driving. https://www.jconline.com/story/news/local/purdue/2025/04/24/one-dead-after-crash-with-boilermaker-special-on-u-s-52/83257047007/
  12. Wow, I guess coming across as an entitled jackwad in interviews wasn’t the best pre-draft strategy after all.
  13. @Coach Nowlin, can you do something about this? Conversation Simon Charles @S_CharlesNFL #BREAKING: I’m hearing multiple reports that a Draft day trade is in place between the #Bears and #Patriots contingent on Hunter and Carter being off the board… Sources indicate that the Bears would be trading pick #10, #41, and a 2026 3rd rounder presumably to come up for blue chip RB Ashton Jeanty
  14. Not so fast! The dream is still alive! 🤣😂😅 https://www.southbendtribune.com/story/sports/college/football/2025/04/23/notre-dame-football-tyler-buchner-quarterback-marcus-freeman-cj-carr-kenny-minchey-steve-angeli/83164288007/ Look who's QB (maybe): Tyler Buchner could move back to old spot for Notre Dame football SOUTH BEND —Tyler Buchner could be moving back into the quarterback room for Notre Dame football. The lacrosse national champion and walk-on wideout for the Irish last season is being considered for a move back to his original position with the departure of Steve Angeli to the transfer portal. “That's something we've discussed,” Irish coach Marcus Freeman said Wednesday in his spring practice wrap-up. “We'll look at the total number of arms, bodies that we have to practice, but it's definitely under consideration to move Tyler back into the quarterback room as we look into the summer and fall camp.” Buchner, who completed his only pass last season on a fake punt at USC, spent the 2023 season as a backup to Jalen Milroe at Alabama. In 2022, Buchner started three games for the Irish, claiming Gator Bowl MVP honors in the 45-38 win over South Carolina. Freeman made it clear that redshirt freshman CJ Carr and third-year backup Kenny Minchey will continue to battle for the starting quarterback job once fall camp opens in late July. Notre Dame, which opens on Aug. 31 at Miami, also has midyear enrollee Blake Hebert and second-year walk-on Anthony Rezac at quarterback. Rezac ran the scout team once Carr was shelved in late September with an injury to his throwing elbow. Buchner, a fifth-year senior, has completed 55% of his 138 career passes in parts of four college seasons. He has thrown for 1,033 yards and six touchdowns along with eight interceptions; that output includes his 23-yard flip to tight end Mitchell Evans out of punt formation in November. The San Diego product also has 483 career rushing yards (5.6-yard average) and eight touchdowns, including a 4-yard gain on a fake field goal last year at Georgia Tech.

  16. The day we all knew was coming … but it’s still tough. HOF Steve McMichael succumbs to ALS. https://www.nfl.com/news/hall-of-famer-and-bears-legend-steve-mongo-mcmichael-dies-at-67-following-battle-with-als R.I.P. Mongo
  17. And yet, we’ve also had a woman officiate in the Super Bowl. Pretty hard to generalize from a single example.
  18. I’ve often felt that recruitment of female athletes could go a long way toward alleviating the officiating shortage. This is an easy path to an untapped resource.
  19. Didn’t they just sign a free agent tight end? And weren’t Kmet and Williams showing good chemistry by the end of last season? Why do they need another TE?
  20. I see former Northwood star Nitro Tuggle has transferred from Georgia to Purdue. I wonder if he drove from Athens to West Lafayette?
  21. Can someone do a wellness check on @Coach Nowlin? Listening to the NFL Network this morning, I heard someone talking about the Bears trading UP to take Jeanty ahead of the Patriots and Jags. I fear if he heard that, he’d have some sort of a cardiac event.
  22. Check that. It was 85 yds., not 80.
  23. From Gilmour Academy in Cleveland. I remember his 80 yd. TD run against USC in October, 1973, my senior year, that was the springboard to a national championship.
  24. South Adams opening the season at Marion Local in Ohio, winners of 4 straight state championships and the nation’s longest winning streak at 64 games? Quite an upgrade.
  25. The thing I enjoy most about the draft is the last minute trades and pick swaps, as teams try to go up or down. Shader Sanders appears to be the focus of much of that discussion. He’s a real wild card.
