  1. I don’t understand. Isn’t the roster size staying the same?
  2. I’m sure it was just an aberration. 😂🤣
  3. Apparently, Adams wanted to reunite with his college QB, Carr. He had told the Packers he wasn’t coming back, and wouldn’t play under the franchise tag. ESPN’s captive GM, Mike Tannenbaum, described the timing of the trade as “catastrophic” for the Packers, since all the receivers who can claim to be an actual #1 have already signed elsewhere. Cry me a river. This is what happens when the inmates run the asylum. Now you’ve got a QB who is making $50+ million … and no one for him to throw to except his pet, washed up buddy, Randall Cobb.
  4. Hence, my previous observation about lost “opportunities.”
  5. Where have you been? Everything’s in soccer’s rear view mirror worldwide, and has been for quite some time. I’m talking about the national pastime of the USA.
  6. You guys are fiddling while Rome burns. Soccer will soon pass baseball in popularity if the trend is not reversed. I love baseball, and don’t want to see that.
  7. I confess, I haven’t a clue how your quasi-political complaint relates to the subject under discussion.
  8. You’re ignoring the “opportunity benefit.” DHs put the ball in play more than pitchers. And there is always the possibility that something will happen vs. watching the pitcher go up there, take his three, and sit down. DHs may not hit as well as the average position players. But they are a much tougher out than the pitcher. As for statistical analysis of the effect of the DH, I don’t have to do it. The owners, who have a lot more at stake than you or me, have already done that. That’s why they voted to expand it to the NL.
  9. At a time when baseball is declining in popularity, and failing miserably to engage younger fans, baseball should be looking to inject more action into the game. This is a step in that direction. For that reason, I support it completely.
  10. I believe Ohio does not go to neutral sites until Week 2. Higher seeded team gets a home game in Week 1. Ping pong balls are not involved. 😂
  11. It’s not rocket science. The most obvious is the opportunities created by the economic consequences of a commitment to athletic excellence. For example, at Notre Dame, athletic department revenue contributes significantly to the funding of a robust minority scholarship program. Also, the connection between athletic excellence and high numbers of admissions applicants has been demonstrated. Athletic excellence is, in effect, a recruiting tool for the entire student body. That’s a couple. There are more.
  12. No idea. However, I can see several paths from which “athletic excellence” aligns perfectly with what I would assume most institutions of higher learning are trying to accomplish. Still waiting to hear any sort of an answer.
  13. You guys don’t get it. That’s exactly what they are doing!
  14. If you’re good enough to command it, why not? That’s the American way, no?
  15. I’m sure they feel the same way about you. 😂🤣 What is the rationale for forcing a student-athlete to choose one or the other?
  16. Because the Supreme Court says you can’t.
  17. Less than a year after the Alston decision, and look how the landscape of college sports has changed.
  18. 13 yr. NBA official Tim Donaghy was dismissed in the wake of a gambling scandal in 2007.
  19. I have always thought he could play. This makes a lot of sense for the Colts. https://www.stampedeblue.com/2022/3/13/22975371/report-name-been-heard-the-most-at-starting-qb-for-colts-is-raiders-free-agent-marcus-mariota
