    I wouldn’t consider this precedent, necessarily. St. Joe made it clear that their “Catholic values” could no longer be squared with use of the “Indian” name. Anderson and LC don’t have that issue.

    I don’t think so, although I’ll grant you it’s a very small marketplace (the NFL), so you can expect volatility. How much is your house worth? It’s worth whatever someone will pay for it. That’s the very definition of “fair market value.” There is no objective standard against which a player’s “worth” can be determined. His value is determined by what someone will pay him for it.

    Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s pretty much the deal he signed, isn’t it? You’re worth what the marketplace says you’re worth.

    Merrillville’s long-time athletic director, Janis Qualizza, is retiring. Perhaps that will bring a change in this philosophy.

    Love the Blue Jays’ program. Played them at their place eons ago, when they were perennial national championship contenders. Great hosts. They’ve been at an elite level for a long time.

    A daunting schedule, no doubt. I wasn’t familiar with Harvest Prep, so I looked them up. Suburban Columbus, student population in the 800s. They were 13-1 last season, but play in a much smaller class. Calpreps says last year’s game would have been no contest.     That’s an interesting viewpoint. I completely understand it. But I’ll bet there are some people with allegiances similar to yours who will be rooting for the Buckeyes in that game. The better OSU’s record, the more impressive if Michigan beats them at the end of the year.

    I don’t know about now, but when her big album came out I was still in college. That album cover was very popular for a couple of reasons. 😉
