You mistake my meaning. I haven’t articulated a personal position on these issues. I was merely trying to explain my belief as to why transgenders, gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, etc., find themselves allied with one another, when they each have their own separate issues. It’s the “common enemy” philosophy. I don’t let terms “offend” me. They’re just words. I believe their perception of the “enemy” is not common sense, but bigotry, ignorance and prejudice.

Yes, an enemy of the various constituencies that make up what a lot of ignorant folks refer to generally as the “homosexual community.” The point in this context is that “Ts” have been lumped into the same category as “L’s,” “Gs,” and “Bs” by the bigots who fail to distinguish between them, and object to them all on basically the same [moral] grounds. All of the alphabet constituencies have, in certain situations, grouped themselves together to fight a common enemy.

As an outsider looking in on this issue, the first thought that comes to mind is that the locales with the strictest gun laws are typically urban areas with comparatively dense populations … areas where the market for handguns is characterized by high demand. If the point to be made is that a patchwork quilt of jurisdictions with hard/impossible to enforce laws restricting firearm use or ownership is unlikely to be successful in competing against those market forces, no argument from me.

The problem with the philosophy of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend,” is that it doesn’t require any critical analysis of your new “friend.” All you need to know is that you have a common enemy. Nobody thinks about whether the “cure” is actually worse than the disease which, in this case, it actually may be, IMO. Ponder this: If we had never had a Trump presidency, do you think we’d have to deal with the Biden-Kamala disaster now in progress? Beware the Law of Unintended Consequences.

The weaponization of DOJ. Does anyone think that if Trump had announced a year ago he wasn’t going to run again that this would be happening? Even after his term — in which he won the title of “Most Divisive President Ever” — is over, he continues to be an incredibly divisive force. He should just go away. The country would be better off.
