  1. Trinity 17 Carmel 7 Q2 Chatard 13 Cathedral 0 Q2 5:20 Irish in the red zone
  2. Trinity 10 Carmel 7 end of Q1 Cathedral comes up with a stop and blatantly roughs the punter on 4th down. Chatard scores on a big pass a couple plays later. Chatard 13 Cathedral 0 Q2 9:39
  3. Chatard 7 Cathedral 0 Q1 1:14 Carmel 7 Trinity 7 Q1 2:45
  4. Nothing against them, but they are an average 5a team while Valparaiso has seen consistent success over the past 6-8 seasons. When I don't know a ton about either team and can only look at the scores, I'll pick the team who's program is significantly better
  5. Merrillville -35 Valpo wins outright Laporte +17 CP -28
  6. Brownsburg looks incredible. Would pay top dollar to see them and Carmel face off in the regular season this year, would be awesome if they both continue on this path and meet up at LOS.
  7. That's the one I was most torn on for sure, but I have a feeling they right the ship a bit this week. I still think they are better than many think they are right now, just need to execute
  8. As mentioned previously, these spreads are made up of a combination of my own thoughts and the Sagarin ratings and do not hold any real value. Ex. Ben Davis at Warren Central (-7) indicates WC is favored by 7 points. This could alternatively be wrote as Ben Davis (+7) at Warren Central. If WC wins by more than 7 points, they would cover the spread, if BD loses by 6 or less, or wins outright, they would cover the spread. WC winning by exactly 7 would result in a "push". Pk or Pick'em indicates neither team is deemed to be favored and you would simply choose who you think would win. Ben Davis at Center Grove (-22) Bloomington North at Bloomington South (-16.5) Brownsburg (-19.5) at Avon Carmel at Louisville Trinity (Pick'em) Columbus North (-4.5) at Roncalli East Central (-9.5) at Franklin County Evansville Mater Dei at Evansville Memorial (-15) Evansville North at Evansville Reitz (Pick 'em) FW Dwenger at FW Carroll (-12.5) FW Northrop at Homestead (-13) HSE at Fishers (Pick 'em) Chatard at Cathedral (-2.5) Lafayette Jeff (-18) at Harrison West Lafayette Michigan City at Valparaiso (-5.5) Mishawaka (-6) at Northwood Noblesville at Westfield (-24.5) Warren Central (-3) at Lawrence Central Zionsville (-4.5) at Franklin Central
  9. I haven't heard anything on Andrean, Merrillville should a top 5 or 6 5a team at worst. This series has been lopsided as of late and just going back and looking at the scores, Andrean hasn't kept it within 19 points since like 2018 I believe
  10. Cathedral very well probably should have been lower, but need to see more out of Avon to give them more respect. Perfect opportunity for them on Friday, and for the record I think they are very capable of winning the game. LN/LC possibly, but Spalding's schedule from last year in insanely impressive I find it harder to move it any lower. 6 shutouts, never gave up more than 14
  11. Bringing this back as it is always a good way to drive engagement ahead of the first week of the season. As a reminder, these are completely hypothetical point spreads created by me. For those unfamiliar with spreads, I'll post an example(s) below. Example: Ben Davis @ Warren Central (-3.5) indicates Warren Central is a 3 point favorite. Alternatively, this could be written as Ben Davis (+3.5) @ Warren Central. If you were to pick a side on this game, you would say Ben Davis +3.5 indicating you think BD loses by 3.5 or less or wins outright. Alternatively, WC -3.5 indicates you think WC will win by 3.5 or more. PK (pick'em) indicates the line is "even" and neither team is deemed to be favored. As aways, a lot is unknown in the off-season and it is impossible for me to stay on top of every team in the state, so feel free to let me know where I am way off or any big games I missed for this week. Week 1: Garrett @ Adams Central (-2) Ben Davis @ Cathedral (-15.5) Andrean @ Merrilville (-24) Carmel @ Fishers (-5.5) Center Grove (-14.5) @ Warren Central Danville @ Gibson Southern (-11) FW Carroll @ HSE (-19.5) Concord (-6.5) @ Elkhart Decatur Central (-12.5) @ Avon Evansville North @ Castle (-12) FW Luers @ Leo (Pick'em) Lafayette Jeff @ Chatard (-8) Lawrence Central @ Lawrence North (-28.5) Mishawaka Marian @ Mishawaka (-27) Mooresville @ Bloomington North (-7.5) New Pal (-43.5) @ Kokomo Noblesville (-23) @ Mount Vernon Penn (-6) @ Valpo Pike (-9.5) @ Zionsville South Putnam @ North Putnam (-1.5) Spalding (Maryland) (-26.5) @ Brownsburg Warsaw @ FW Snider (-7.5) West Lafayette @ Harrison (WL) (-6) Whiteland @ Columbus North (-18.5)
  12. Kokomo was not that good last year and they are breaking in a new coach who only has 1 previous season as a HC. Concord was great last year and Valpo is always solid, in no world does Kokomo deserve a spot over either of them
  13. You have to be confused about something because their sectional is very weak on a 5a scale, very little chance they get taken out before regionals
  14. I like it, but bold... I'll take Crown Point straight up, but Pike has a big opportunity on their hands, they're certainly no slouch either
  15. Jeff will be solid. Returning both leading rushers, 2 of the top 3 receivers, as well as a lot of returning starters of defense. Couple seniors going D1 and some younger guys who will also likely be offered eventually. QB is the big question mark for them and if they get solid play there, they are very capable of representing the north at state although a date with most likely Merrillville in semi-state would be quite the challenge too. Jeff had a couple close games with them when they used to be in the same sectional, but could never beat them. Would certainly not pick them to beat whoever comes out of the south (Cathedral, New Pal or East Central), but a finals appearance would be huge for their program. Week 1 game at Chatard should tell a lot Tough to pick a real sleeper for 6a with everyone knowing how good any of the top 12-15 teams could be. I don't consider them actual "sleepers", but Warren and Ben Davis almost always have the talent to compete for a title. For 5a, Merrillville and Jeff in my opinion look to have the best shot at taking down whoever the represents the south in the title game, especially if Merrillville's QB is as good as people say. No clue how good Concord, Warsaw or Valpo will be this year. Bloomington South could be good, but again just would be quite the task to take out whoever they would face in semi-state
  16. Surprised to see Chatard that low.. anyone know if they lost a lot from last year? Finished 13th in Sagarin last season, obviously isn't the be-all end-all, but still had a pretty impressive resume as usual
  17. They pretty much got dominated by Lafayette Jeff Week 1.. were down like 31-7 at half I believe. Unless they had some major injuries in the offseason, I think we need to settle down on the Avon talk.
  18. Some 5a schools new non-conference matchups at a quick glance Crown Point replaces Arizona College Prep with Pike; Good test for both teams Merrillville replaces Hobart with Loyola Academy (Illinois); Defending Class 8a Champion, Pirates will have their hands full Snider and Warsaw set to face off Week 1 Decatur Central faces Avon as opposed to Columbus North (probably not an upgrade) East Central drops Moeller for Lawrence North; Should be a good game Lafayette Jeff drops Avon and will face Bishop Chatard Week 1; Heard Jeff is bringing back a lot, very interesting matchup
  19. Southport and CN would have no business being in the HCC. They would get dog walked in the large majority of sports, and the HCC wouldn't even consider either of the two
  20. 6A Crown Point @ Westfield Brownsburg @ Center Grove 5A Merrillville @ Warsaw Decatur Central @ Bloomington South 4A East Noble @ Mishawaka Martinsville @ New Palestine 3A Garrett @ FW Luers Batesville @ Heritage Hills 2A Adams Central @ Andrean Linton @ Indy Lutheran 1A South Adams @ North Judson South Putnam @ Providence
  21. Jeff scores and goes for 2, stuffed Warsaw 30 Lafayette Jeff 27 Q4 9:09 Jeff kicking off
  22. Warsaw 30 Lafayette Jeff 21 Q4 11:55 Warsaw kicking off
  23. Snap goes over Broncho's punters head for a safety Warsaw 23 Lafayette Jeff 21 Q3 1:00
  24. Jeff stuffs Warsaw on 4th and 1 from the 2. Jeff ball Warsaw 21 Lafayette Jeff 21 Q3 2:38
  25. Warsaw 21 Lafayette Jeff 21 Q3 9:06
