  1. He is also intending on playing football next year.
  2. Looking forward to it....should be fun.
  3. LOL....Memorial folks themselves said here back in '19 that they were glad they were in 4A or they wouldn't have been celebrating if they were in 3A. That didn't originate with me, but with Memorial folks. As for Chatard, some of those folks stated that the '19 team was the best they had had in a decade...again, their words, not mine. As for me, am I glad that a stellar Memorial team was not in 32 for us to have to get through in addition to a tough GS team? Like you said, it is what it is. I believe that P/P should have to play up anyway, but the rules in Indiana are what they are and until they are changed we just have to get bigger, stronger, faster. Take it from one who is 1 - 6 against Chatard....we don't make excuses when we lose to them (well some 'round here do), we instead have to get back to work and improve until the rules change, which they won't. I would have rather had this years Chatard team to play than the '19 team, but that is the way it goes. The unfortunate fact for those of us in public po dunk is that to win state we need guys named Jay and Brady (with a solid crew around them)--once in a generation for our schools. We don't get those guys every year, but every now and then, in a good program you can take a group of skinny, nasty, country boys (and a few big hungry ones) and make a solid run and have your opportunity to play for it all. To be honest, in 3 years, I hope our path goes through Memorial and Chatard....I think we may be able to give them both a solid game.
  4. I can promise you that Memorial is glad they were in 4A in 2019, or they wouldn't have been celebrating another state title. TBH, I'm glad we didn't have to deal with that 2019 Memorial team, but would still like to see those 2 teams play.
  5. I see you are from Tri-west....if you kid's last name is Dutra, WELCOME TO LINCOLN CITY! Just kidding, we would welcome any kid from such a stellar program as Tri-West.
  6. I'd like to see Regionals thrown in that metric....only because we have double digit regionals and it would give us a bit of a boost. So to be honest, totally selfish on my part. over the next 3-4 years we should improve these numbers with a couple deep runs, hopefully at least 1 to LOS. The expectation is a back to back trip to LOS in a few years. Hopefully Chatard stays in 4A! Oh, and just a jab to throw in, Lawrenceburg is 0-3 against the PAC for the last 3 years.
  7. If Brady was in Indy and carried these numbers it would be obvious who would get this. Too bad we can't revisit this conversation in about 5 years. It is at that point we find out who Mr. Football is.
  8. LOL....there was quite a bit in this thread that didn't age well. Indeed....a 35-3 run put that baby to bed. Congrats to the Titans! First public 3A south of Indy to win state since we did in 2000. Glad it's back, and back in the PAC!
  9. Dude. Are you kidding...Dutra was an animal. Left an impression on me and over the last 20+ years of paying attention to high school football, he is one that I'm not sure I will forget any time soon. You don't see many kids in high school that size that can move like that.
  10. I'm not saying that it will be a blowout. I believe it will be close, I would just offer that BJ corners likely haven't dealt with anything quite like this. The offense moves the ball quick, and they score quick. When coach says, "you can't allow the big plays", the problem with that is that is what they do, all the time. "We got to keep their offense off the field". Again, they can score 50+ in 15 minutes. GS is not Cathedral....I'm not delusional, but they are really, really impressive and a crap ton of fun to watch (unless they are playing us).
  11. Wow. That is serious growth. We are going the other way, but this is the current state of pretty well all rural areas that aren't at least close to a city.
  12. Probably be a while yet....Yorktown is just over 800 students and GS is just over 700. You would need over 100 more kids, which as fast as the community is growing, could happen pretty fast, but that would be quite a bit.
  13. I said "south of Indy". I'm not overlooking them. Great wins and great programs.
  14. yes, 3A only. I should edit, but for some reason, it won't let me.
  15. I hope GS brings this back south. They will be the first public school since we won state in 2000 to bring this south of Indy. 20 years, since a public wins south of Indy....seriously guys....WIN. I won't speculate on a score, but I think Brefeuf MUST score at least 30 to even have a shot. GS will surely score a minimum of 35 points. I don't say it often but GO TITANS! Regardless, great season.
  16. I had this conversation the other day. This years team reminds me of that 2015 team. I'd like to see those teams play. They are different in location of the main players, but same in attitude and grit.
  17. That's cute....we just had a kid (football player) that lost half his leg farming. He is continuing to farm and planning to be on the football team next year.
  18. There was a farm here in Spencer County that went for 8500/acre a couple years back....I thought they had to be crazy.
  19. Indeed, his "give a crap" was broke a long time ago. He had that same attitude in high school. To this day (20 years now), I haven't personally seen a high school athlete that could do what he could do on both sides of the ball. Anymore, most these guys don't even play both sides, even in little schools like us. He was ridiculous at baseball as well.
  20. You should have seen Jay Cutler on the defensive side. He was more fun to watch there than as a QB.
  21. Indeed, but this year Chatard is having an "off" year for Chatard. They are experiencing in 4A what Southridge did in 3A...a down year after success. I'd like Chatard to stay in 4A, but looks like they will be back to be a thorn in the side. That 2019 Chatard team was off the charts. I would have much rather had this years Chatard than the 2019 Chatard....at least we could have been competitive. With that said, if they were in 3A this year, it wouldn't be shocking if they were still playing, even when "down" they are a factor in the postseason. I'll say it again--BEAT TRI WEST!
  22. Indeed. We are 1 - 6 against Chatard. Sadly, 2 of those games we lost we felt like we had the better team, they just weren't better that day when it mattered. It is nice that they are out....GS has at least one thing to count as a blessing. 2019 there was no question who the better team was....they would have played with the winner of 5 or 6 that year....oh well, back to normal programming. Beat Tri West!
  23. Exactly why I threw the "maybe" in there.
  24. I don't remember the Hendershot, but I remember that they completely dominated Andrean. That was disappointing because our game with them was very close and we likely would have done the same thing to Andrean....maybe.
  25. Last time we ran into Tri-West was 2014. That was when Mac Dutra played...absolute animal. I haven't seen too many kids that were that big AND that fast. We lost at home 14-6. They went on to win state. Tradition doesn't win football games, but TW has a bunch of it. Good program. Should be a decent game. I think after the nail biter Saturday, GS may be looking to lay the smack down this week.
