This. All that crap talk about winning 4a should have never started. That is the drivel that Nick Saban refers to as the "poison". Kids hear that and then they think--"who could possibly beat us?" Gibson Southern--that is who. Now learn from it and give it a shot to win the 1st game of sectional. We need to figure out what we have to do to win that game. I promise that if we pull Jasper the coach's first phone call is to his brother Nick Hart.

We are going to struggle to get out of sectional if we can't figure out how to get 20 guys to play 4 quarters. We got a big taste of that Friday with a roster that is double ours. I said earlier in this thread that these guys needed adversity to get their heads out of the clouds. I told my son Thursday to expect major adversity. That is what they got--punched right in the mouth.

Midseason Mr. Football frontrunners
HHPatriots replied to Justasportsfan's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I'll add to Jett Goldsberry... 783 yards passing, 11 TD 447 yards rushing, 12.4 yds/carry, 15 TD 482 all purpose yards Now to defense, because our QB is one of our best tacklers Tackles - 13 solo, 7 assist 3 Sacks As of now 26 Total TDs, on pace to shatter what he had last year. -
@Titan32 Let's get to the things that really hold weight. Sandy's. Will I be able to get in and out of Sandy's in a reasonable time on Friday? We went there before we played Princeton, but you guys were at MV that night so it was pretty empty. So, am I getting in, out, and to a decent seat before kickoff, or will it be packed with Titans? Will I get thrown out on my neck for even walking in there? 🤣

And now entering the conversation, that sweet graphic. Streaming and radio links below. Clayton blue > Royal blue! That IS intended to be a shot. 😀 HH vs Gibson Southern Friday, September 26th 7:00 pm CDT @ Gibson Southern High School History Of The Matchup Heritage Hills (5-0) @ Gibson Southern (4-1) Gibson Southern High School Friday, September 26, 2025 7:00 pm CDT Kickoff This is the 54th meeting between Heritage Hills and Gibson Southern. Heritage Hills leads the overall series 36-17. Heading into week 6, Heritage Hills is ranked 1st in all three polls in 4A and Gibson Southern is ranked 2nd in the IFCA and 4th in the USA & AP polls in 3A. Our Patriots are averaging 56.0 ppg on offense, while holding opponents to 6.0 ppg. The Titans are averaging 35.8 ppg, while allowing 19.2 ppg. The Patriots also faced three teams that consolidated into Gibson Southern High School in the 1972 and 1973 seasons. Heritage Hills went 0-2 vs Fort Branch, 1-1 vs Haubstadt and 2-0 vs Owensville. In the first season of Patriot Football, the Patriots went 9-1 and their only loss was to Fort Branch (15-12). The Titans won the first three meetings in the series by beating Roger Snow’s Patriots in 1974, 1975 and 1976. The Patriots didn’t beat the Titans for the first time until 1977, which was the year Bob Ashworth became the Patriots Head Coach. The 1977 season was Bob Clayton's only season as Offensive Coordinator at Heritage Hills before he stepped into the Head Coach role. The following season Ashworth moved onto Evansville Reitz and Clayton took over the Heritage Hills program. The Titans have won 13 of the last 22 meetings starting with a win in 2010 that snapped the Patriots streak of 21 straight wins over the Titans. Heritage Hills and Gibson Southern have played 5 overtime games in the series including a 7-0 five overtime affair in 1982. WE NEED YOU LOUD & PROUD THIS FRIDAY! BRING THE 12th MAN! So we are clear, I wasn't really referring to the lack of dental hygiene in Gibson Co, it would be foolish for anyone in my location to cast those stones. I was having more of an introspective look. Big German women...see there, we can find common ground. It is almost like we are simpatico. We should gather for tailgate Friday night and sing Kumbaya, and then go watch our communities murder each other.

The loss of the dynamic duo isn't going to be the problem next year, the problem is that we graduate 1400 lbs of offensive linemen. Jett and Ty are generational athletes for us slack jawed rednecks, but you can always find someone to carry the ball and run fast. I'd put this O-line up against about any in the state. Losing them to graduation will be our biggest issue next year. I still want a "better" non-conference game--or two regardless of who we lose.
-
Agreed, the non-conference schedule is awful. It is unfortunate that we couldn't get a 2 year deal with CAL, they are ranked #2 overall in KY this year. We have a new AD, maybe this will improve. Apollo was an improvement but Catholic or Owensboro would have been better if we are going to Owensboro.

Nobody is even talking about it

I could be wrong but I think his post is thick with sarcasm. -
I'll start by saying that Heritage Hills needs some adversity...this is the week for it, Harrell has the Pats losing this game by 4--SEE BOTTOM OF POST. Rankings are IFCA from week 4. I'll post the cool graphic later in the week for our graphically jealous Memorial friends. who will Memorial pick up for their non-conference game?
-
It means "Catholic" in the sense that the kids that go there are actually catholic kids from catholic families--like Memorial. Unlike other P/P schools. It isn't a shot at anyone local. Again, as I said, if I woke up tomorrow in metro Evansville, I'd likely send my kid to one of those P/P and they are not Catholic kids from Catholic families, and I'd even hope my (current) senior could find a place on the football team. Originally it was just a comment that to call MD the Catholic Cats is not saying much when the overwhelming majority of Jasper is Catholic. That's all, again, no shot at anyone local.
-
"Catholic Cats"---I'm not sure which one you mean. It is Dubois County after all. With that said, I've always felt that Mater Dei is legitimately Catholic. But I digress. If I lived in the middle of Evansville right now, my kids would either go to Memorial or MD. I'm Baptist. 🙂

If I was a betting man, I'd say there was a discussion about Washington, what to do, what to not do, and that we have moved to prepping for next Friday against GS. Honestly, these boys need some adversity in their lives.....
