  1. He coached at IU as a GA from 2016-2018 and then found his way on staff at JMU in the last year or two. It's being widely speculated that he will join Cignetti in Bloomington.
  2. He'd be taking one of those jobs for the sole reason to spite Florida State. He's not happy they passed him over for Mike Norvell a few years back.
  3. 1. He's from Pittsburgh, played QB at West Viriginia and has spent the majority of his time coaching in PA and the colonial states outside his stint at Alabama with Saban. Looks like most of his JMU roster is from the DMV and surrounding areas with a fair amount of FL kids. There's a fair amount of talent on JMU that has the potential to follow him which isn't uncommon in this climate. 2. There's currently three coaches on his staff that all have IU ties; Pat Kuntz DL coach (Roncalli/ND/IU GA 16-18), Bryant Haines DC/LB coach (Ball State grad and former position coach at IU), and Marcus Hall-Oliver DB coach/recruiting coordinator (IU position coach under Allen). Expect most if not all those guys to follow him as they will all be receiving major pay raises. He resurrected that Indiana-Pennsylvania program that his father once built, went 14-9 in two seasons at Elon as they were coming off 8 consecutive losing seasons, and then obviously inherited a strong JMU program that he transitioned into FBS going 8-3, 11-1 the last two seasons. Think you're selling his resume a little short. Recruited Phillip Rivers and Russell Wilson to NC State during his time as their QB coach and responsible for recruiting guys like Mark Ingram, Julio Jones, Donta Hightower, etc to Alabama.
  4. Cignetti the guy. On paper, might be the best coach IU has hired in a long damn time.
  5. *Candle not Campbell (would be dope if it were Matt) but sounds like Cignetti may be imminent. Honestly had never heard of him till this year and 62 seems like an odd reach, but have been watching different clips of him the last hour or so and his resume doesn’t lie. Probably the best outcome you could hope for as an IU fan.
  6. Who was going to invest in a lame duck coach?
  7. -Jason Candle--Head Coach Toledo -Paul Chryst--Current Texas analyst/former Wisconsin head coach -Justin Frye--Ohio State run game coordinator/OL coach (IU alum) -Mike Hart--RB coach Michigan Take your pick, death is not an option.
  8. Alabama needed to convert a 4th and 31 just for this weekend to mean anything. Alabama is being carried by their name only.
  9. Alabama LOST to Texas on their home field yet you're advocating their inclusion over Texas. Alabama and Florida State have one mutual opponent: LSU. FSU beat them by 28, Alabama 14. Yeah they aren't the same team without their QB but they've EARNED their way into the playoff more so than Alabama. Why play the season in the first place? Put Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan in every year and don't worry about anything else.
  10. Right because it's a money grab, not because they didn't deserve to get in. If you go undefeated in a P5 conference and don't get in over a team who didn't even win their own division there's nothing really else to say.
  11. Well that's just it, there's no set criteria. It seems to switch every season. One year it's about best wins and the next year it's about quality losses. And the year after that they value conference champions.
  12. His record at Kent State is far more impressive when you dive into things. Kent State is arguably the worst job in the MAC. Had the #1 offense in the country twice I believe 2/3 last seasons before becoming at OC at Colorado.
  13. Yes "cut".
  14. Sean Lewis who reportedly interviewed yesterday seems to have reached an agreement with San Diego St. Jason Candle or bust for me although have heard some rumblings that Tom Herman may be in contact.
  15. Scholarships are only one year binding contracts. There's nothing that states a coach can't cut a player. Deion basically "cut" 75% of Colorado's roster last year.
  16. Winning your conference championship should count for something, otherwise, why have them? Florida State getting left out because their QB is hurt isn't really justice.
  17. And Georgia out too?
  18. Wommack likely holding out for the Arkansas job where he once played and dad was DC. Surprised Sam Pittman wasn't canned this year but he's almost assuredly gone after next barring a miracle turn around.
  19. Keep an eye on IU, sounding like Sean Lewis may be a serious candidate to be IU's next head coach.
  20. There’s no way the SEC is getting two teams in if Texas wins Saturday.
  21. There’s a precedent for this. Oklahoma got in during the Baker Mayfield years over Ohio State by virtue of beating Ohio State in Columbus. There’s no way Alabama jumps Texas if Texas wins Saturday.
  22. Everyone in the country knows Fitz’s capabilities. He was at NU 17 years. They don’t need to see him win 7 games at IU to hire him away. If a big school wanted Fitz, he wouldn’t be available to begin with.
  23. Agreed
  24. As a dear friend of Zach Martin (Rees teammate), Rees and I drunkenly shared a bed after a rager house party and I was subsequently urinated on. Figured this was an appropriate place to post this story. Hard pass on Rees.
