  1. There was nowhere to go but up for Rutgers, I’d pump the breaks a tad. The Scarlet Knights this year beat: 3-9 Temple 5-7 Syracuse 5-6 Delaware (FCS) 5-7 Illinois 2-10 Indiana Not exactly murders row. They will definitely continue to improve under Schiano but still have a ways to go.
  2. And I don’t think that’s out of the question. IU up until this year has handled Maryland/Rutgers most years and has played MSU extremely well the last 5-6 times they’ve played.
  3. IU had been taking major steps forward up until a serious setback this year. IU had terrible luck with injuries this year and played the entire season with subpar QB play. Willing to give the new OC a chance to try and develop McCulley before writing of the Hoosiers just yet.
  4. IU is never going to legitimately compete for a B10 title under the current alignment. Still believe IU can be a consistent 6-7 game winner if they continue to recruit at this level and in certain years when stars align muster 8-9 wins.
  5. Compare the offer sheets to guys like Cam Williams, Beau Robbins, etc to the 4* IU has coming in next year. These aren’t local 4* choosing IU over Purdue and teams like Iowa and Minnesota. These are nationally recruited guys with big time offers.
  6. They signed 7 P5 transfers as well, many who should be able to step in and contribute immediately. IU was bogged down by a horrific OC who had no business calling plays.
  7. Cam Williams future NFL starter? Kid couldn’t play his way onto the field on a bad IU team.
  8. Yes brain fart on my part about the ACC. Still don’t understand why we are testing asymptomatic, vaccinated players in this day in age.
  9. UCLA should have to declare a forfeit and refund NC State for their troubles. I thought UCLA had a vaccination mandate for all students, staff, and personnel. Obviously these are rumors, but it’s widely circulating on Twitter that a vote was taken before kick off and the UCLA players didn’t want to play. Losing to a G5 program in UCLA’s backyard would be horrific optics. UCLA was apparently only down to 2 scholarship defensive lineman due to COVID protocol and players being in the portal, but had more than enough players available to play this game if it was a must.
  10. Right. And there’s a difference between playing Pike, Lawrence Central, North Central, etc for half your schedule vs playing teams with multiple P5 players every week. You really think Center Grove would compete with IMG, let alone beat them?
  11. Kind of like me saying Center Grove had a tremendous and successful season but didn't play a schedule remotely close to some of these 1 loss teams ranked behind the Trojans? I wasn't lying when I called you a hypocrite.
  12. You're right, I apologize. It was all Rock attempting to discredit Brady Allen as Mr. Football winner. Sorry for lumping you in, that's not good company to be associated with. That being said, I still don't think Center Grove is one of the 5 best teams in America. Worthy of a top 25 ranking (undefeated, state champs, etc) in my opinion, but if they played the type of schedule that many of the teams in the top 25 play I think their record would reflect as such. No doubt football in Indiana is growing (and getting better), but it's still light years behind South Florida, Texas, CA, etc.
  13. I read for two weeks that Allen shouldn't win the award because he "only" plays QB and only plays 3A competition. I don't think Center Grove is the 5th best high school team in America. I think they would get mercy-ruled by IMG and their 24 D1 commits despite being lower ranked than Center Grove. That's my opinion, everyone had one.
  14. Which is hypocrisy because these same two posters are trying to discredit a certain POY award winner in a thread just below this.
  15. Absolutely nobody discrediting Center Grove's success. Why go there? Just have a hard time believing there are only 4 high school teams in America better than Center Grove. Center Grove doesn't play near the schedule that some of these teams ranked just behind them do nor do they have near the overall talent. Teams like St. Thomas Aquinas and Bishop Gorman have 15-20 legitimate D1 prospects and play nationally ranked teams week in and week out. Guessing if Center Grove played that kind of schedule, they'd be an afterthought for a top 5 ranking. Just an opinion.
  16. I generally agree with this. I obviously don't watch/follow football nationally in they way you do, just find it hard to believe that a team like Center Grove is better than a team like St. Thomas Aquinas who has 15-20 kids with legitimate D1 offers. The competition these teams play in metro hotbeds like Dade/Broward Co, Houston, Dallas, LA, ATL, is just ridiculous, not to mention the private/prep schools who play national schedules.
  17. Was Lafayette Jeff voted out of the NCC?
  18. Would just be silly not to vote either school in if you’re the HCC. CG and Carmel are going to win their fair share of state titles regardless of what conference they’re in, might as well have them win under the HCC banner than vice versa. Adding both teams, especially Carmel, rekindles some old school Hamilton County rivals and in all honesty probably raises the level of competition for every conference member.
  19. In this day and age of prep school and academy football hard to believe there’s only 4 better teams than Center Grove, but nonetheless still a very cool recognition for both the Center Grove program and the state of Indiana itself.
  20. They aren't in the MIC anymore. They were voted out. That's why everybody called the powers at be petulant children for voting the two schools out, there's no chance at a return.
  21. Why would they go back? I thought athletics weren't of importance to the MIC. That's a pretty quick change of heart.
  22. Right, which is extremely silly and serves no purpose to the discussion. I don't know the first thing about Frankfort but guessing there isn't a huge disparity in SES factors between them and conference foes. No reason for them to be as bad as they are unless there isn't even attempt by the local community and administration to improve their football program which honestly may be the case.
  23. Better comparison to what?
  24. I wouldn't go that far, but no reason to think that with a solid support staff, good feeder program, etc Frankfort shouldn't fare much better than they currently do in a conference comprised of mostly 2A and 3A schools. I'd start there first.
