  1. Agreed. Whenever I do actually go to a game, typically a Noblesville game at this point, I'm impressed by the sheer size of the teams. Based on my perception, a lot of 6'0 or higher players. Not a lot of 5'7 to 5'10 kids.
  2. That is an unreal stat. I agree, based on longevity of career, I would bet on a kicker or punter as being the most likely to duplicate it if even possible. I do think Brady is the GOAT and have enjoyed his run this year.
  3. Tom's resume definately speaks for itself, but defense also wins Championships too. Plus, MVPS, like the Heisman, typically go to the offensive stat stuffer on the best team. My counter to Belichecks record would be 80 of those games were in Celeveland. He turned Cleveland around by Year 3. Year 4 turned into a complete disaster when Modell announced he was moving the team to Baltimore. He then left for New England. Year 1 was a transition period where he restructured the roster (Also lost picks in the draft prior to Year 1 to get Bill from the Jets). Year 2 was a Super Bowl win. I charted NE's Passing Offense and Team Defense Ranks during the Belicheck/Brady marriage. I used inverse rankings for appearance, so a ranking of 32 in 2007 indicates the Patriots had the highest passing offense that year. Early on the Defense was ranked significantly higher than the passing offense. The 1st 3 Super Bowls had a significant difference in their rankings. Tom's rankings elevated later in his career; however, the defense had a higher league rating every year they won a Super Bowl.
  4. I think the truthh is somewhere in the middle. Earlier in their marriage I would say the defenses Belicheck built really carried New England. A lot of QB's could have won a Title with those defenses. Later in the tenure I think it's definately fair to say Brady carried New England. Looking forward to that game the most. The Packers are looking like Super Bowl Champs, but Tampa Bay has some serious hitters on D and the Brady factor. Personally, I hope the Pack win out. Hopefully, GB winning another Title lights a fire under the seats of the idiots running Halas Hall. They may not know much about running a football team, but it's well reported they do not like seeing GB win.
  5. Brees and I both started at Purdue in the Fall of '97. He was actually in the very first class I had. I recognized him because I followed recruiting and knew he was the QB from Texas. Crazy to think he went from being the skinny unknown kid in class that day to where he is now.
  6. Rippy is back and wants the New Haven job. Noted. Any wise interviewer is going to ask how you can be trusted to not bolt after 2 seasons. I'd advise you to work on that response. Good Luck!
  7. RIGHT!?! Allen Robinson told Carmen & Jurko a few days ago he didn't even know who was calling the plays against New Orleans. Are you kidding me? And I did hear the clip of them giving praise for winning 3 of the last 4. Getting excited about beating 3 crap teams and getting clobbered by your rival is cause for joy in New Jersey and Jacksonville. I loved hearing a reporter drill George about having a knowledgeable football presence at the President level. The only answer George had was that he trusts Ryan and Matt to make football decisions. I'm not expecting him to throw Ted under the bus, but I hope he wasn't missing the point of the reporter that Ted's position SHOULD be making football decisions regarding Pace and Nagy.
  8. I haven't listened to the press conference; however, judging from those I follow on Twitter it seems like George, Ted, and Pace are clueless. I'll catch up on today's Chicago sports radio while working tomorrow and I'm looking forward to the soundbites. The fact that Ted was even there today is proof he is involved in Operating decisions as Team President and doesn't just oversee the Financials of the business. He has no Business as President of an NFL football team. Only in the Chicago Bears organization could an Accountant rise the ranks of the financial side of the business and end up being promoted to President over football operations. Complete lunacy. That doesn't happen with the Rooney's or Mara's of the NFL. The schedule gets even tougher next year. So, I guess we can look forward to a sub .500 season and George having no idea how to fix it. The worst is I've heard multiple talking heads in Chicago say Virginia and George really do care about the success of the Bears. Then do something about it! I could possibly despise the McCaskey's more than the St. Louis Cardinals, which is saying a lot in my book. They inherited the franchise via Virginia and have zero background in football. By no means am I saying the owner should have an NFL background, but in their situation, it probably wasn't very prudent to hire the best Accountant in your office to run the Bears football operations when you realized Michael McCaskey wasn't capable of the job. I'm so pissed right now. Who knows if it would have even mattered, but I was convinced that this would be the year we would see some real changes being made before the Bears got lucky and ran off a string of W's against crap teams. I would not be the least bit surprised if them getting the extended playoff spot saved everybody from getting canned.
  9. Congrats to Ball State and Indiana. ND's not an Indiana school. They're an extension of Chicago's South Side 😃.
  10. Haha..so true. I would bet my life's savings that one ND fan I know will post something similiar on Facebook. I'm looking forward to the day that Saban decides to not coach college ball anymore. How about Hook 'Em fans? Someone should dampen their expectations and remind them Sark isn't bringing Jones, Harris, Smith, and the entire Alabama O-Line with him to Austin. Irregardless, the way he was using Harris in the 1st half on the motions was a thing of beauty. I haven't watched much of Alabama this year. Was that a new wrinkle for tonight or typical of Sark's playing calling this year?
  11. Yep, and one of those perennial powers, Maine South in Park Ridge, got taken to the woodshed by Warren Central a decade or so ago. New Trier would be an absolute powerhouse in most sports if they didn't lose so much talent to Loyola Acedemy. Hockey is also huge up there. You can see homemade mini ice rinks in a lot of North Shore backyards. I have a friend who played hockey at Cathedral and he said playing New Trier was like playing a minor league youth team.
  12. Miller needs to go. I can't believe we had another WR fragile enough to take the bait of that NO DB. Wims needs to go as well. No point in keeping a WR that will drop key passes when he does get playing time. Looking forward to seeing some house cleaning take place in Lake Forest.
  13. And if you talk to the average Chicagoland HS football fan they'll act like they're watching Texas HS football up there. The population of Chicagoland alone is going to create some really good teams in conferences like the Chicago Catholic League, East Suburban Catholic (think they recently merged with the CCL), DuPage Valley, West Suburban, and the conference that Lincoln Way East, Bolingbrook, Homewood-Flossmoor are in. But, the elite teams in that area are no better than the elite teams in Indiana and Ohio. Unfortunately, they don't leave the Chicago area much for marquee OOC play. In 2019 Loyola played Cleveland St. Ignatius in Michigan City and lost 27-10. Loyola wen 8-4 that year and lost in the 3rd round of the playoffs. Iggy was 5-5.
  14. Yeah. I don't know how anyone could trust this guy long term. It's well written that one of the main reasons Spurrier failed in the NFL, other than Dan Snyder, was that he tried treating it like a 9-5 job. The absence of not having to recruit is probably a plus, but NFL head coaches practically live at their Facility.
  15. Googled it like a nerd...
  16. Isn’t Palm from the Lake Central or Munster area and a Purdue grad?
  17. That was with Foles throwing for 272 yards and 2 TD, Kamara being held out of the endzone, and it was played in the beginning of November. I'll take the Saints by double digits this time around. The line is 9.5 last I saw.
  18. Payton should have a field day outscheming Pagano. I'm confidant the Saints cruize to a double digit win. Hopefully, the Green Bay game and a 1st round beating will convince George it's time to move on from Phillips and Pace. I have a feeling Nagy is safe and a new GM is not going to resign Mitch. Unless, Mitch is franchised and the Bears groom a drafted QB.
  19. I was close. Figured Ole Miss would eclipse 30. I missed this one. Looks like IU’s offense was a no show for most of the game.
  20. I’m too lazy to look it up. What did Tennessee and Florida do? Is LSU under fire for something other than the sexual abuse handling? It’s unreal their BB coach is still employed.
  21. Houston and Minnesota have awful defenses. Jacksonville may not even try now that the Jets have foolishly handed them Lawrence. Will Green Bay even need to play their starters in week 17? Nagy and Phillips may be saving their jobs with this cushioned wins. I think I'm going to puke.
  22. Interesting. I wasn't aware Ole Miss will be missing players. IMO, this is a pretty big game for IU. It's completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but beating even an average SEC team in a Bowl game is a good image booster.
  23. What is the appeal of Marian? Chicago Heights is a dump and they don't dominate the East Suburban Catholic in football.
  24. Here is what Harrell has so far for Morton's 2021 schedule. It doesn't look like they plan on playing 2nd fiddle to Central...
  25. I think your questions start with Morton. IMO, there's no possible way for Central to become an "Elkhart" if too much of Hammond's talent is stil going to Morton.
