    All of these professions have shortages; maybe the skills they take are rare, and the justification for low pay is non-existent.

    I would say it’s more to do with private student loans than public ones. The banks have way more of an incentive to push college than the feds.

    I’m mostly dismayed at the disrespect for teachers, soldiers, and LEOs; particularly considering @Bobref‘s daughter is a teacher, the military isn’t making quota for recruits, LVMPD officers make $100k per year.

    There are plenty of hotels in Shelby County; the Wildcats can stay the night before the game and rest up.

    Cow Palace has good chili; Cagney’s breadsticks are good. An alternate route from Martinsville is to cut through Center Grove on IN-144. There are a lot less curves that way.

    Here’s an example from my own life: I’ve worked as a Homebound teacher, and one of my students had autism and a history of violent outbursts.

    A “strike” in CCSD would probably be a massive case of blue flu, and in a district that has 1 substitute for every 4 teachers, it’s a severe problem.
