Wilson Footballs and Wilson Prep Kit
Punttheball replied to Punttheball's question in Officiating Forum
This crew was pretty sure they were right and I was wrong. I was told several times that they were state championship officials. As a coach, I cannot win that argument. They let us use them because they checked them in and then brought it up. Otherwise we were going to need to use another set of balls. Just seems like there needs to be some kind of a clarification. -
Wilson Footballs and Wilson Prep Kit

I agree. How does this get across to all officials or is the rule an interpretation? Foreign would be a spray glue or something like it to increase the grip. This is a Wilson product as you said. -
Wilson Footballs and Wilson Prep Kit
Punttheball replied to Punttheball's question in Officiating Forum
We apply it straight from the box and then before each game. We have 5 balls we set aside as game balls for the year. If we use this product on the balls, they will stay good for two years. If we didn't they would not make half a season before they are slick and very difficult to use. They become kicking balls. -
This past Friday, we were told by an officiating crew that our balls were illegal. We used the recommended Wilson Ball Prep Kit on our Wilson footballs. The crew said that this was not legal. Wilson balls are good balls if you can use this kit to preserve and condition the leather. If not used, they become very slick and useless. Why is a manufacturer telling us to use a product to improve the condition of the leather and prolong the life of the ball, but officials are telling us we can't. Any help would be appreciated. The crew was very sure of themselves in their conviction of the rule. We have used this method for a while with our footballs and this is the first time it was an issue. The balls were still used as the official checked them in and did not say anything until afterwards. They were very reasonable guys and did an excellent job during the game.

What is the overall outlook for TRC in the Fall of 2021? Top dogs? Those that will improve? Who will stay the same or fall? Why?

Jayson West leaves Warren Central
Punttheball replied to MICFan34's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
If he gets a better deal/job, it is a no brainer. I would think you are on an island on this matter. If you are a teacher, you should understand. If you are not, it would be interesting to know your profession. -

Are you serious? So a teacher is suppose to be loyal to the cause right? In the business world people come and go all the time. -

Southwood is NOW IN!!!!
Punttheball replied to 77Jimmie's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I follow everything you are saying...It just seems like a huge amount gray area. It again has been left to local officials, so I see where one district may have a different policy than another. Current situation that I am familiar with has a teacher quarantined for 24 days. He had a family member test positive within the same household. So he is 14 days + 10 days because he is a teacher. So the I guess Valley would need to access the situation if a Soutwood player comes back positive. I just hope it works in favor of both teams. -

I hope this works out for them, but I believe that the Wabash girls Volleyball team tried the same thing and it was a no go. -
IMO, I did not think that LaVille's O-line stuck out as being the weak link in the game against Cass last year. They threw a poor ball deep in their territory that was picked for a TD that really started the downward slide. Up till that point they were playing tough and never gave up. I don't know that they had a good scheme to defend the wing-t and the RPO offensive attack. Not to mention, Cass just had more weapons..

I believe Peru is in the same situation. How are teams like Valley handling this? Southwood played them Friday. What is the domino effect? -

Can Delphi defend trap and bucksweep? Pioneer will not make many mistakes on offense. Pioneer by 3 TD's Laville's one loss to NJ shocks me. Maybe a Covid thing. Tough kids and coached well. Cass is down and seems to have packed it in with their effort against TL. Laville by 4 TD's Bremen is superior up front and has power and speed that cannot be matched by Rochester. Bremen by 2 TD's Manchester has not been the same without #10 Ream at RB. Wabash in close one. Wabash by 1 TD
