  1. Can't disagree here. Loved watching the Dewitt kid play. There's some serious potential for the lineman in that class as well!
  2. Bump New Prairie out of the top five and Northwood in at the #5 spot. NW has a very talented team this year and could make a deep run.
  3. Have to agree here. Laville seems to crumble in the big games. Coach Hostrawser coaches defense and let's his assistants take over the offense is what I've read on here. Have to wonder if a change is in order for that. Will be a tough year in the conference as the middle tier teams like North Judson and Winamac also return quite a bit on their rosters.
  4. I'm also anxious to see DeWitt this season. He seems like a hard nosed kid and doesn't shy away from contact.
  5. If I'm not mistaken, they return about 95% of their roster. With the add of Radtke and the amount of experience they have coming back, they're looking for a great run.
  6. It should be an interesting year in the HNAC. Knox has the edge entering the season, but wouldn't sleep on Laville giving them a run for their money. As always, you can't count out Pioneer either. Laville's watch - Doyle, Dill, E. Bettcher, AJ Bedock & G. Wagoner.
  7. It's rare with the smaller schools, most definitely. I guess I'm curious if it's really the play calling that's holding Laville back.
  8. Agreed. You have to have trust in the guy next to you to do his job. To piggy back off of my earlier comment, I think Laville has 5-6 skilled position players who are versatile.
  9. I agree rain could hurt Laville and I could see this one being closer than expected. I don't think Judson will score on Laville though. I'm predicting Laville 21-0 with a late touchdown. Sometimes when you have so much talent it's hard to figure out how to best use that talent. I think that's where Laville is struggling right now from the offensive side of the ball. IMO, Laville has the best skilled position players in the conference (collectively). Sure you have the explosive offense of Pioneer, but that's centered around 2-3 players. Laville has 5-6 dynamic players that could breakout any night. It's surprising to see how bad they're struggling. Thoughts???
  10. Culver at Caston, Culver 60-6 Knox at Pioneer, Pioneer 22-14 Laville at Glenn, Laville 35-14 North Judson at Triton, NJ 50-21 Winamac at West Central, Winamac 42-14
  11. Pioneer controlled the game, most certainly... but Laville gave up a kickoff return for a TD, a passing TD as time expired in the 2nd quarter, a botched punt by Pioneer that was taken 50+ yards for a TD and was in the redzone how many times and didn't score??? So I'd definitely say the score wasn't an indicator of how the game went. Regardless, I don't see Laville beating any of the top three teams in that sectional.
  12. I don't disagree. I think Laville is up and down. I will say the Laville/Pioneer game was much closer than the score shows. All in all I think the Bombers/Panthers would be a great match up and I can't wait to see which teams come out of those two sectionals. I'm not sold on Boone Grove in that sectional either.
  13. I'd love to see a 2A match up between Laville & Rensselaer. Who would ya'll take and why???
  14. I like Winamac's chances if they pass early on. Culver will dominate offensively, but Culver's pass D is horrendous. It seems Winamac is starting to click in their passing game. Should be an interesting game.
  15. Caston at North White, Caston 36-30 Culver at Winamac, Culver 38-20 Knox at LaVille, Laville 28-7 Triton at Pioneer, Pioneer 68-0 West Central at North Judson, North Judson 50-8
  16. CA at Pioneer - I don't know much about CA, so I'll take Pioneer, 38-18 Glenn at Knox - This will be a very interesting match up as Glenn is much improved, but Knox is still too much, Knox 28-14 Laville at Caston - Laville 69-0 Triton at Culver - Culver seems to be piecing some things together and are starting to roll, Culver 48-28 Winamac at NJ - Winamac will torch NJ through the air, their pass defense looks in rough shape, but I think it'll be a close one, NJ 26-24
  17. Caston at Triton - Triton wins 30-12 Knox at Culver - Knox wins 35-12 North Judson at North Newton - North Newton wins 28-7 Pioneer at Laville - Laville wins 30-24 Winamac at North White - Winamac wins 35-7
  18. Judson had a few guys get banged up, but no injuries..
  19. From an individual standpoint, I'm curious who you thought had great week 1 performances and will impact the game week 2? I'm curious to see how Laville's Kolby Watts plays this week along with Andrew Dill.
  20. Caston at North Judson - It should be an interesting match up for the Jays as Caston will spread them out and historically the Jays pass defense has been poor. I still think they'll roll Caston - Jays 40-12. Culver at South Central - Culver will continue to run the ball and control the clock. They'll clean up the turnover issue and come out on top - Culver 30-22. Knox at Rochester - Knox will dominate from start to finish. Rochester is down this year, but will play physical - Knox 40-6. Pioneer at Winamac - Not much to say about this one. A loss for Pioneer week one means nothing.. they played a very talented Cass team and will be ready for the tournament. I think the loss may have lit a spark for Pioneer - Pioneer 56-6. Triton at Laville - A rivalry for the two schools and Triton come ready to play. Laville has talent across the board and fly around.. I don't think Triton will be able to match up to Laville's talent - Laville 40-18.
  21. Laville over Bremen, 24-16 Pioneer over Cass, 32-18 North Judson over Culver, 19-13 South Central over Triton, 20-19 Knox over Winamac, 30-6
  22. Based on the needs of the Jays, him playing o-line is right where he needs to be. He knows that it puts the team in the best possible position to win with him blocking and that's a team player! Criticizing the coach before a single game has been played isn't the best route to go... The most important guys on the field are the ones blocking up front!
