  1. Floyd Central beats Seymour 42-14
  2. BNL beats New Albany 38-3
  3. 5 yard QB keep for a TD and it’s 37-0 with 10:40 left in the third.
  4. 39 yard TD pass by East. 30-0 with 39.2 seconds left in the half.
  5. 7 yard TD run by East. Two point conversion failed. 23-0 with 4:05 left in the half.
  6. 9 yard TD run and East now leads 17-0 with 7:38 left in the half.
  7. Jennings County with a low snap on the punt. The ball rolled behind the punter and he fell on it on the one inch line. One play later, the East RB runs it in for the TD. 10-0 with 11:30 left in the half.
  8. 27 yard FG by East and it’s 3-0 with 3:22 left in the first quarter.
  9. No only Shelbyville is joining that conference. I just looked it up and New Castle was hoping to find a new conference in east central Indiana. Not sure what that would be unless another new conference decides to form.
  10. According to Google Maps, there’s only a one minute difference in travel time between Southport and Shelbyville for Delta and Yorktown. However, depending on the amount of traffic on 465, I could see that making a difference. I missed the news on New Castle. Where are they going?
  11. This is pretty nuts. And I thought Markell Jones put up ridiculous rushing numbers his senior year. If this continues, he’ll break Markell’s single season rushing yardage record.
  12. I don’t know for sure because I’m not close to it anymore and don’t live there anymore. However, I have heard some things and they weren’t from people associated with East. I know the transfer rules have changed in the past year but that has only encouraged poaching (sometimes even done publicly). Not illegal but it still feels yucky. I’ll leave it at that.
  13. Not as big as they used to be. We look like Dollar General Columbus East these days.
  14. You haven’t seen how bad East’s defense is. I get giving up a lot of points to two ranked teams but getting sliced and diced by Seymour last week was unacceptable. Unless we make major changes, BNL and Floyd Central will put up a lot of points on us.
  15. I was at the South Dearborn at Jennings County game in week 1. Seeing the Knights always go for 2 after touchdowns was one thing. Seeing them go for it on 4th and goal from between the 15 and 20 when they were in field goal range was another thing. Every Jennings County fan sitting around me started remarking that they must literally have no one in their school that can kick field goals. We couldn’t believe it.
  16. Yeah people only had like two days to give their picks in week 1 before the site went down. We’re starting fresh with week 4.
  17. Can’t say I disagree here. I hope Roncalli can give Columbus North a game but I doubt it. They’re on another level right now. Is this the team that finally knocks off Center Grove in sectionals? 11 straight losses to the Trojans The last win was in 2007.
  18. @Olympian06 @SPARKS @Bulldog15 @Uncle Bubba @Bluejacket1 @Owls2005 @LawrenceGreene @billybob @starbacker @swcgillespie Checking in with the ten of you past HHC Pick ‘Em competitors to see if you want to participate again this year. If so, please have your picks in by 7:00 PM Friday.
  19. Week 4 Picks Columbus East (1-2, 1-0 HHC) at Jennings County (1-2, 0-0 HHC): The Panthers are coming off their first win in two seasons while the Olympians secured their first win of the season last week as well. Even with the atrocious display of defense during the win, East should have a much easier time this week. The Olympians have won 28 straight in the series and that streak will continue. East wins big in what could likely be their final meeting in North Vernon. East leads the all-time series 47-7. New Albany (0-3, 0-0 HHC) at BNL (2-1, 1-0 HHC): The two most surprising teams in the HHC this season go at it. The Stars shocked many out of the gate with their week 1 manhandling of Martinsville. It appears they’re a massive threat through the air. On the flip side, the Bulldogs have been stunningly awful. A 49-14 loss to Providence was followed up by two shutout losses. Dropping Jennings County from their schedule may come back to bite them as this team appears to have a real shot of going winless for the first time ever. BNL comes away with an easy win here. They lead the all-time series 25-22. Seymour (0-3, 0-2 HHC) at 5A #10 Floyd Central (2-1, 0-0 HHC): The Highlanders actually cracked the top 10 in the AP poll last week (one of the now three polls) and they remain at the #10 spot this week. This team has shown they can score a lot of points (they average 44.3 per game). Even in their loss to Whiteland they put up 28. Meanwhile, the Owls have an obsolete defense as a struggling East offense put up 49 on them last week. Floyd Central isn’t the team you want to see when you’re giving up 35.7 points a game. The Highlanders win easily to make it three straight against Seymour. The Owls lead the all-time series 15-14. Jeffersonville (1-2) at Kokomo (0-3): Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time these teams have played. The Wildkats came away with a 28-13 win back in 1984 in the only other time they’ve played each other. As much as I’d like to pick the Red Devils here, Kokomo’s 0-3 record looks better than Jeff’s 1-2 record based on strength of schedule. This could be the closest game of the night of the four but I’m making The Beach Boys proud by taking Kokomo here.
  20. Noblesville hasn’t had a winning season since 2001.
  21. Personally, I’m not sold on Homestead. A lot of people are pointing to that Noblesville win but, traditionally, Noblesville is a bad team. They were probably the best 2-8 team in state history last year because they played a lot of good teams close but I don’t see that being the case this year.
  22. Yes Yes. Thanks for catching that.
  23. It’s exciting seeing Northrop at 3-0 for the first time in 40ish years but I’m still hesitant to jump on that bandwagon like some people have. Those first three games aren’t a good enough indicator as to whether or not they’re a legit contender for an SAC title. This week against Homestead will be a good first test but still won’t be an opponent on the level of Snider (although down right now), Dwenger, and Carroll.
  24. We’re only three weeks in but it seems like the tiers in the HHC have already taken shape. Tier 1 - Floyd Central and New Albany Tier 2 - Jeffersonville and Columbus East Tier 3 - Seymour Tier 4 - New Albany and Jennings County I wonder if Jennings County and New Albany regret dropping each other now. Both will likely end up winless in the HHC.
