There is nothing luxuries about an end zone camera. From putting it up to taking it down, it sucks. Stick to being "milftastic" cause you don't know what you're talking about on this one. 1. Sir I promise you I have forgotten more than you will ever know about filming a football game. My grandfather worked for Thomas Edison's company when he filmed the 1903 Yale-Princeton football game. My grandfather literally captured the first football film in history! 2. My father, who was a veteran of years of high school football filming, tragically slipped and fell to his demise out of a crow's nest while teaching a young man how to properly film a high school football game. He gave his life in service of filming football games. Put some respekt on my name 1 Quote

Do you feel your football team would benefit from having the use of a high quality end zone camera? I feel something along the lines of the HI-POD X31 for example, would not only benefit your team at the Jr high level, but would be a boon for the whole RP football program. Tanka Jahari, is that you???!!! Been awhile since we've had an endzone camera debate on here. I only knew one person on the GID who was that passionate about endzone cameras. Did you hijack Ms. Draper's account? Edited September 30, 2024 by Bear54 Quote

DoctorShrimpPuertoRico5 Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 I believe we found something out this week. The visors are indeed conference champs(under their own stipulations). Anyways congrats to the visors for the title… word on the street is town wide pasta for everyone in Clinton from Gerries week 7 Visors at the ponies- Visors by running clock, enough said. Tenderloins at Attica, another running clock, enough said North side at woods. I said it once and I’ll say it again, good thing basketball seasons not too far. Run that clock Mel gibsons at the rubber complex. I think Seeger puts up a little fight but give me Covington by 3 scores Quote
Bear54 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Week 7, time to build some momentum for sectionals... South Vermillion* @ Fountain Central - Visors got to pick when to play the game last week, not this week. They should still be the better team, but I heard Herb was in attendance at the RP game on Saturday, so he probably picked up some adjustments to make for his Mustangs this week. Don't be surprised if this one is close for a while. BTW...the * will now be placed next to SV for their Mythical 2024 WRC championship. 35 FC 21 Riverton Parke @ Attica - Say what you want about the Panthers, but it's a good thing the game at SV was played on Saturday. Otherwise we'd be talking about a possible 3-way tie for first. That being said, I'd hate to be the Ramblers this week. Lots of frustration will be taken out at the Bruce. RP wins North Vermillion @ Parke Heritage - Not much to say here. The Falcons are playing some good ball, the Woolfs are not. NV 42 PH 6 Seeger @ Covington - The Trojans got back on track last week. This week will be a little tougher. The Patriots look to rebound from getting beat up by FC last week. Cov 30 Seeger 16 Quote
GroundSquirrel Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Why are we so hung up on the SV RP game being postponed? At the end of the day, we all knew this was going to happen. SV was the favorite to win coming into the season and so far they handled business like good teams do. Even if RP won Saturday there would be a 3-way tie for first. Without a doubt if RP played NV like they did SV they would've won. There's no point in complaining and again I like nuts but I am not Quote

And yes, most did know this would happen as soon as the 10 day forecast was released prior to the game and it showed a strong possibility of rain. (It was the third game in a row SV moved their home Friday night game to Saturday vs RP). And kuddos to SV, if they can take advantage of weather to benefit their style, do it. Sadly, if Attica was on the schedule for that night, I not convinced that SV dictates the game to be moved. I also don’t believe North Posey, nor Linton, would be as kind and hospitable come sectional time. 1 Quote

There's no point in complaining and again I like nuts but I am not I'm not going to make any groundbreaking statement here, but the element of weather is a part of the game of football. I think people, including myself, are just commenting and writing this off as business as usual for SV. Lots of good teams lost across the state Friday night because they couldn't adjust to the elements. SV knew darn well they faced a much higher probability to lose to RP if they played in those elements on Friday. Hence the move to Saturday, which nearly back fired on them anyway. My question is this, Are you really that good of a team if you have to dictate when and where you get to play depending on what team you are playing? What message are you sending to your team? I know its cliche, but good teams really can play anyone, anywhere and in any conditions. Just another example of how SV will be getting ready for basketball/wrestling season before sectionals are over. 3 Quote

GroundSquirrel Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 The squirrel thinks this page is absolutely nuts this week. This week will be all chalk but lets get into the predictions. SV @ FC- Great turnaround by the stangs and I think I underestimated Herb. SV is better though and I think FC hangs around for a quarter but the wildcats are rolling in this one. SV 48 FC 7 RP @ Attica- Turf gets broken in but RP wins by Mercy NV @ PH- This game intrigues me as the past couple years NV has been the favorite, but PH plays close for half and I believe the trend continues. NV wins 42-21 Seeger @ Covington- I'll have my eye on this game. I know Seeger is big but Covington has speed. Cause the trojans play at home and the pats are disappointing this year give me the trojans 41-13 Those are the picks for the week and I think the rest of the regular season will be good telling for how the sectional will go down. I can tell that people are upset with the wildcats but honestly the whole state postponed, I guarantee if NV was playing anybody else other than Attica they would've postponed. 70% of the state played on saturday so it's not like the panthers were the only team sitting at home friday. All of Vigo County and Wabash Valley postponed, so I think the game getting postponed i getting blown out of proportion. Take the loss and move on. Again I like nuts but I am not Quote

No, it was torrential and presented a safety hazard, which is why our game was called at the beginning of the 4th. No doubt that had it been a one score game, it would have gotten postponed to Saturday, at the very least delayed due to weather conditions. Weather is undoubtedly a part of the game, but there comes a point where common sense has to prevail. Quote

But I'm 100% sure no one this thread has ever seen thunder or heard lightning in their lives, let alone during a football game, at least that's what my mama says. Quote
Bear54 Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 I'm not a weather man, never wanted to be. I just know some of the games I've seen in my lifetime were in the same, if not worse conditions that were present on Friday. But in related news, I came across on X the RP-SV JV score from this past Monday night... RP 62 SV 0 Just an anomaly or sign of things to come? 1 Quote

Friday’s forecast for the local games in Parke/Vermillion/Putnam counties at 7pm is 75 degrees, partly cloudy, 5% chance of rain and 5% chance of a request to delay a game. 2 Quote
