Bishop Luers principal responds to lawsuit alleging school failed to act on sexual exploitation of students

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The students are accused of combing through websites like Pornhub in attempts to find videos or pictures of women or girls who resembled their high school female classmates.

At least one of the boys would match up skin tone, hair styles, body types and other features, according to newly released court documents, and then he would superimpose the names of his juvenile female classmates onto the videos and photos.

Afterward, the boys would share or sell the videos and photos to others within the student body as well as to students at other high schools, advertising them as actually depicting their female classmates – violating Indiana Code banning the making or distributing of child pornography in the process.

A lawsuit filed Tuesday in Marion County claims this happened at Bishop Luers High School as early as 2022 and in 2023.

On Wednesday, Bishop Luers Principal Scott Kreiger sent a letter addressed to, “the Bishop Luers Community,” and released to the media which stated that the allegations are, “not accurate representations of the truth or of Bishop Luers High School to this situation.”

The lawsuit also claims that Bishop Luers officials not only knew all about the scheme — supposedly perpetrated by at least three boys and involving dozens of girls — but failed to report it to authorities while also trying to stonewall giving any updates of a supposed investigation to the girls’ parents.

The lawsuit – filed by four sets of parents to girls who never gave their consent to have their names in the videos – paints a picture of a scandal that was widely known among students and leadership alike but somehow remained within the Luers bubble while school officials did everything they could to not deal with the situation.

According to the article at least one member of the Luers football team was involved with this crime. Shameful.

sadly this has been around schools last few years nation wide

For all that is good about technology......then this is the other side of the coin

This is not judgement on Luers situation, I will wait to the final outcomes there, but sadly, kids know how to do this sort of stuff and with AI its even scarier how easy it is based on meetings/articles I have been part of or seen

As a teacher, what amazes me (not trying to be funny here, just the crazy truth) is students will go through all these hoops to create something like this, but asking them to do a simple worksheet for a participation score is like pulling teeth.

It's like the folks you catch with academic misconduct. They put more effort into cheating, working to not get caught, and then working to provide denial when they get caught, that if they'd just expended the same energy on the assignment, they would have gotten an A.
