tango Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 How accurate is Sagarin for the closed SIAC? Regardless, HH and GS are clearly the top 2 teams in SW Indiana and heavy favorites come tournament time. Quote

It's hard to get by a metro P&P with those homogenous student populations. Do you think Sagarin looks off for the closed SIAC? I think SR would beat some of the teams above them on the list for whatever that is worth. Quote

On Sagarin, I really have no idea. The order of SIAC teams looks about right I guess. Quote

Since closing the conference, the SIAC has had 6-8 teams ranked in the top 100 for the final rankings after the state finals each year. The current rankings are consistent with how the conference has traditionally finished in the final rankings, with the one exception being the rank of the top conference team, which will be heavily influenced on how deep in the tournament the SIAC teams go. 1 Quote

I don’t think it’s as bad as 2013, but no way of knowing until sectional finals week. Hopefully by then enough connections will be made to calibrate the rankings. It a possibility that no SIAC teams advance to regionals - which I think last happened in 2013. Quote

I think unlikely, but possible. 5A Sectional 16: Obstacle: Floyd Central 5-1, schedule looks to be weak up to this point. No wins over team with winning record. Historical difficulty getting past Castle or North. I say Castle makes it through. 4A Sectional 24: Obstacle: Heritage Hills, can Jasper or Reitz bring enough? Don't think so at this point. 3A Sectional 32: Obstacle Gibson Southern, Great win vs Heritage Hills, looking tough. But you never count out Hurley/Memorial in tournament time. This seemingly inevitable matchup should be a great one if it happens. Quote

I was thinking the Bloomington Schools were paired with Castle/North. BHSS looks to be a tough regional opponent for the winner of 16. I like the SIAC chances for 5A better against Floyd/NA. Quote
