To have cleared and got under the Cap by the retirement of Dalman and trading and not having to eat any money on DJ Moore is an INCREDIBLE start to the off season C LT S LB RB (unless we roll with Swift and Mongaai again) Fun times!!! Exciting Too late. Don’t bother. Chargers signed Biadisz (Washington guy) to a 3 year deal. Quote

You sure about that as he was NOT the best CENTER available but going to coast 18-23 a year .... BUT Higher salary cap means higher salaries. Quote
Sparty Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Saw it reported on the PMS. I didn’t say he was the best. Just saying Biadasz signed w chargers. Quote

IF , POLES and crew DECIDE to, but man, I know CW18 was on record saying that Dalman got him out of some bad checks on protections all year, so we need someone who is going to continue that trend unless CW18 next GIANT step he takes is that with is improved accuracy , but I much prefer the CENTER to make that call Quote

Can’t imagine a guy would take the job without asking that question. But … rebuild often gives a new head coach a longer leash, since expectations are lowered initially. Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Pretty good day spending money the way Bears did today. Especially trading for that Center vs the money it cost LV to get the C LOVE the BUSH at LB and resigning Jackson, needed more speed on field and got it there and at S as well. Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Also: Comp Picks are out..... NFL clearly too afraid of Bears getting TOO good...... I am sure there will be a great rationale and NFL would be out in front of reporters to detail why they made their decision, Im sure that is going to happen Quote

Coach Nowlin Posted April 1 Posted April 1 https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/onsi/news/ben-johnson-frustrated-bears-coaching-staff-pass-catchers-2025-issues Quote Johnson was also perturbed with the amount of drops Bears pass-catchers suffered in 2025 and stressed getting back to fundamentals to improve. "Johnson isn't happy with the offensive staff for how they didn't coach WRs to get open enough," Cronin relayed. "Emphasized getting back to fundamentals in OTAs on catching the ball to address drop issues." 1 Quote
Bobref Posted April 6 Author Posted April 6 I wonder how @Coach Nowlin feels about the Bears’ latest move. Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted April 7 Posted April 7 don't understand the correlation of her being reassigned by the Federal Govt and Bears coaching? Context of the "joke". Quote
Muda69 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Bears icon Steve McMichael diagnosed with CTE year after death: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48419299/bears-icon-steve-mcmichael-diagnosed-cte-year-death Quote Hall of Famer Steve McMichael, a key member of the dominating defense that helped the 1985 Chicago Bears win the Super Bowl, has been diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, the Concussion & CTE Foundation said. McMichael died last year at 67 after a five-year battle with ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. "Too many NFL players are developing ALS during life and diagnosed with CTE after death," his wife, Misty McMichael, said in a statement released by the foundation. "I donated Steve's brain to inspire new research into the link between them." CTE is a degenerative brain disease that has been found in athletes in contact sports, combat veterans and others exposed to repetitive head trauma. It has been known to cause violent mood swings, impulsive behavior and depression. It can only be diagnosed after death. According to a 2021 study by the Harvard Medical School and the Boston University CTE Center, NFL players are more than four times more likely to develop ALS than other men. Dr. Ann McKee, director of the Boston University CTE Center, said about 6% of individuals with CTE in the brain bank also have ALS. "There is strong evidence linking repetitive brain trauma and ALS," McKee said. .... The game of tackle football will kill you. Quote

By comparison, the incidence of ALS in the general population is about one thousandth of that. 1 Quote

Bobref Posted April 8 Author Posted April 8 I’d be very hesitant to attempt to extrapolate the % of CTE cases found in the brains studied to the League as a whole. There’s a very obvious selection bias that precludes that. 1 1 Quote
