This site is averaging over 100 views for every response. I think Tim Adams goal was to have active participation rather than a bunch of viewer who provide zero content. A subscription of $5.99 per month would keep the viewers, but now they are members and might even use their keyboards to provide something rather than freeload.

I really doubt anybody would pay 6$ a month for the privilege to look at the takes on here. I don't really see the harm in lurking, also ads exist.

Agreed.  And I find the ad system here on the GID especially obnoxious. It's well worth the $ I give every year to get rid of them.

Lol, thanks for sharing that. I've got that guy on "ignore." He has no business soliciting donations. In fact, he probably costs the GID money in the long run.
