Keep the Jennings County football team and the school itself in your thoughts and prayers. A horrible car accident yesterday on State Road 7 in northwest Jennings County claimed the lives of a sophomore football player as well as another male student.

My prayers are with his family. Awful to hear this. 😢

Here’s a write-up in the Seymour newspaper about the Owls’ upcoming season. Nine starters back on defense but only two back on offense. Looks like a senior and a sophomore are battling it out for the QB spot.

I’ve seen soph in JV, frankly he’s not bad. Decent vision, throws a decent ball. To be honest I’m not sure I’ve seen the senior in QB role. Obviously this is going to be a much different team. Several linemen back, some skills back, but it’s going to be different.

Should be an interesting year. Not sure if Floyd Central or BNL will be the favorite. I’ve heard Columbus East is supposed to have a bit of experience but I don’t know for sure.

Well, Seymour, FC, and BNL are all replacing 3 of the best QBs south of Indy last year.

I don't know much about BNL obviously. I'll let their fans answer. And obviously I don't really have all the answers right now. But FC, they have to replace Tristan Robertson, RB-Mitch Bernardi, 2 very experienced OL. Their NT, an All State MLB, and a couple other good LBs, and their Kicker.

Returning, they have Kaiser, their All State WR. A couple OL. Sebastian Robertson who I expect to be a 1000+ RB. Most of their WR/DBs. And a couple of transfers, Jacobi Jones who came over from Louisville Waggoner, he's a RB/WR/LB that has also played QB. Big, athletic kid. And a kid from Corydon who is supposed to be a D-1 prospect as a Kicker. And then their incoming Sophomore class, which has been heralded as the best they've ever seen here, has QB Jaxon Stone, who should be the starting QB, they're really excited about him. Luke Kruer who is another one of those fast as hell FC RBs, and some pretty big OL/DL dudes. They beat St X and East by 3 TDs each so they've definitely earned the hype.

CE has a solid soph class, did the Cental QB end up at East? If so, enjoy fellas, he’s going to be fun to watch.

The Central QB is at East. James Scruggs.  Very athletic freshman.  He's been putting in a lot of private training with a QB coach in Indy and Dusty Kiel.

It will be interesting to see what their team looks like this year. I have heard reports of them losing upperclassmen linemen and their prospective RB will not be playing.

I imagine we could see some underclassmen get a chance to prove themselves earlier than expected.

North defense had their way with the O line last year the way it was so it doesn’t look good for the city rivalry game this year.

They better build around him or he's going to go the Parker Elmore route.

I found some tape on Scruggs. He's definitely a good prospect. A little on the smaller side which may limit him a little bit. But he's quick and his arm for a Freshman is pretty good.

Our last two state titles were with smaller QBs so I’m good with it.

How’s North looking this year?

True and we don’t have that anymore. Also needed 1-2 dynamic running backs to make it work.

Having a talented QB is definitely a start though.

@Bulldog15 Is Elmore not playing QB? I heard he was a safety in the scrimmage with Fishers the other day.

We need him playing QB at FC. Does his parents have any interest in moving to Floyds Knobs? Lol.

On a serious note. Our QB play was rough in 7 on 7s. It's still early. But it's a shame to have possibly the best WR core we've had in years and have inexperienced QBs. I'm sure Seymour and BNL are experiencing similar situations. Could be an ugly year for QB play in the conference this year. We had 3 real good ones, and a couple other decent ones last year. I'd be interested to see if Coach Bragg is thinking of moving Kaiser to QB.

No because Floyd Central isn’t a 6A school. Elmore stated he wanted to go to a 6A school to get noticed.

No. North is set at QB. He has been playing safety and is a crazy interception threat.

You know I was kidding right? Lol.

Someone enlighten me. How does this kid get to switch schools and just be magically eligible? Did he move to Columbus? Using a relatives address? It just seems like bullshit to me.
