Yeah one of the Fishers coaches texted me this when I was asking him about the scrimmage. ”They have that Jen Co transfer playing safety. I thought that was interesting. The kid’s athleticism pops.”

We have a kid that transferred here from Louisville early last season and he's not eligible until Week 5 this year. Lives in Floyd County. Had to sit out a year. Frozen Tundra
Sounds like BNL is extremely young and inexperienced. Lost a lot to graduation and some others due to transferring. I don’t know what New Albany has coming back but I’d guess Floyd Central is the favorite unless the Bulldogs have a lot of kids coming back. https://www.wbiw.com/2024/07/23/young-sassy-stars-look-ahead-to-future-success-with-final-summer-scrimmage/

I wouldn't worry about New Albany. Don't be shocked if their football team tries to dribble the football instead of cradle it. That school legitimately only cares about Basketball. As far as Floyd Central goes, we lost some key guys especially at QB and MLB, but I like our Senior Class and our Sophomore class is loaded. I get they’re your rival and all but it needs to be mentioned they’re one of three schools in this conference to have ever advanced to a “final four” in football and they’re the only one to do it in the last five years. Pretty good for a team that “tries to dribble the football”. Edited August 1 by Frozen Tundra

It's the only sport they care about. Their football team has a big hump to get over. Edited August 2 by Fkfootball
Fkfootball
Another thing. Floyd Central and New Albany is a pretty mellow rivalry. Same county, same school system. But all the coaches are friends. The players are all friends. The parents. It's not a big thing. New Albany and Jeffersonville flat out hate each other. That's a pretty nasty rivalry especially in basketball. Floyd Centrals main rival is Providence. They hate each other. Providence canceled football though because they lost like 7 in a row. They play in every other sport. From my experience, it’s like a NASCAR rivalry. When we’re competing, we badly want to beat each other and there’s usually trash talk leading up to the week of the game/match/event. But any other time we’re hanging out with each other and mingling. Kind of similar to how Dale Earnhardt and Rusty Wallace hated each other on the track but then would hang out and go fishing the next day. I think the hatred is more for who we’re representing rather than for the people themselves. Like I can sit here and say I absolutely hate Columbus North. However, I’m not hating on the people that make it up. I just hate the school they represent. For instance, I cringe when I see North t-shirts but the people wearing them don’t bother me. Not sure if I’m getting my point across and describing it accurately. Hopefully I am and you can understand.

The schools do a good job of promoting the rivalry games in each sport; encouraging the student sections to come out and support their teams. Certainly a lot of trash talking leading up to the event. Then afterward, it's on to the rest of the season. We don't wear any orange clothes in our house (except when deer hunting). We joke about that with our neighbors (as we actually live in East HS district) but it's tongue and cheek. We go to church and hang out with families from both schools. But when the game starts the rivalry is on!

They are probably the most successful program historically south of Indianapolis. When Todd Sturgeon was coaching Floyd Central though, we put it on them a few times. But now that he's gone we've went back to mediocrity and NA has some ridiculous talent coming up including a Freshman that is a top 10 in his class. Nationally. But Football wise, they won't touch us for quite some time.
Fkfootball
I watched the Glicod Southern Indiana preview tonight. Notes from HHC coaches involved. Steve Cooley-Trying to re-establish identity. 3 way battle at QB. Hired a new DC. Loves his Linebackers. Secondary returns both starting CBs. OL is decent but lacks depth. Likes the tough schedule they have. Joe Washington(New Jeffersonville coach)- Wants to become a top team in 6A. Looking for kids who take pride in Jeffersonville football. Trying to establish culture in season 1. (Nothing too exciting. He just kept it simple.) James Bragg-At a point where he can reload and not rebuild. Offensive Line is strength of the team. Will be suprised if they don't really move people this season. Is concerned about interior Defensive Line. Needs to find depth there. Secondary is much better than it was last season. Returns top 4 WRs and top 2 TEs. Has established a culture and identity of discipline. Community has embraced him and the crowds are improving. Has 128 players in the program and 258 players in the youth program. Numbers grow every season.
Frozen Tundra
@Bulldog15 I’ve heard from two different sources that Parker Elmore has been ruled ineligible to play this year as a result of the article from The Republic in which it was explicitly stated his transfer was a result of athletic reasons. Is this true?

But just let kids play where they want to play.

Fkfootball
We have a guy who transferred from Louisville Waggoner last year and he can't play until week 5. These rules don't make much sense. And he lives in Floyd County. Edited August 13 by Fkfootball
