TigerFan20 Posted September 3, 2024 Author Posted September 3, 2024 TF20’s Power Rankings: 1. Memorial- Coming off 2 wins from pretty tough places to play at is no easy feat. Adding with a dynamic offense and stingy defense helps the Tigers at being the #1 in the SIAC. 2. Reitz- Reitz is not going anywhere guys, the Panthers are looking strong so far this season. Even without a few of their starters, their wildcat formation has looked amazing these last 2 weeks. Panthers get several players back this week including their starting QB. 3A. Mater Dei- The Wildcats have raised a ton of eyebrows after beating Castle last week. The Cats offense lit up in the 2H, with Mallory throwing over 300 yards in the game and tacking on 75 rushing yards. Memorial at Mater Dei is right around the corner. 3B. Castle- The Knights took a tough loss against Mater Dei after leading for a majority of the game. However, Castle is still a strong contender if their defense plays their A-game and their offense is beginning to show something now. 5. North- The Huskies kept close games against Memorial (up until the 4Q) and Castle thanks to their Defense. However, their offense is still trying to find their rhythm, as they couldn’t move the ball well last week. But, their defense is pretty good and will cause some trouble for teams. 6. Jasper- After taking a tough beating against Memorial, Jasper rebounded and won against Harrison. However, Jasper did struggle defensively to contain their QB and receivers. It’s Jasper, so I won’t be surprised if they finish in the Top 4. 7. Lincoln- The Alices looked pretty good against Bosse in Week 1, and had an opportunity to beat a depleted Reitz team. However, the Alices could not do much against the Panthers, although, the Alices are missing a couple of starters. 8. Harrison- Harrison has a pretty good offense judging by the eye test. Seems like their QB ripped apart Jasper’s passing defense, while the offense is averaging around 380 YPG. However, their defense hasn’t looked good so far. 9. Central- Central gets their first win in 3 years by beating Bosse. Still a long way for the Bears. 10. Bosse- Unfortunately for the Dawgs, they are in last place. Took a devastating last second loss against Central to get into the win column. 1 Quote

This week specifically, or just in general? I used to think the IFCA poll had more validity, but I'm not sure how much thought coaches actually put into it. They have enough going on as is. I think the USA Today poll is probably better than the old AP poll. Since there aren't many small town papers anymore it would seem the chances of "homer" vote are less likely. TigerFan20 Posted September 16, 2024 Author Posted September 16, 2024 What we learned from Week 4 - Memorial dominates Mater Dei from start to finish by scoring on 6 possessions and the defense limited MD’s offense. The Tigers are looking dangerous in the SIAC with their offense and defense. Mater Dei took one in the mouth on Friday and couldn’t get it going against the Tigers. However, a rematch between these 2 teams may happen in the near future. - Jasper has started to looked a bit better these last couple of games, as the Wildcats force a running clock and get their first shut out of the season. Bosse hasn’t look too particularly good, as the struggles continue for the Bulldogs. - Reitz is 4-0 on the season and is eyeing to stay undefeated, the Panthers beat North by 16, although they suffered a couple of injuries. Big game against Castle is right around the corner for the Panthers. North’s Defense managed to stop Reitz’s running attack, however, the Huskies struggled to score offensively for the 4th straight game. - Castle is starting to find their offensive rhythm the last couple of games, as the Knights force another running clock against Harrison. Intriguing matchup coming up against Lincoln and then Reitz the following week. Harrison’s offense has stalled, after scoring 60 total points in their first 2 games, the Warriors have only scored 10 points. - Lincoln is back in the win column after running all over Central on Friday with almost 300 rushing yards and forced a running clock. The Bears didn’t do much against Lincoln and had a little over 100 total yards in the game. Quote
