Yes, if I were a coach and a child was on the fence about participating, I would talk to him (and mommy & daddy if needed) about the values of the sport, beyond winning and losing. Hopefully, they would see the potential in what I as a coach would be teaching their child in this activity.
Now, done going down your rabbit hole. Have a nice weekend. Get outside...the weather is awesome!

I just want to say it’s really cool having you guys as part of this online community. I unintentionally have this stereotypical assumption of what the ages of people are on this message board and I’ve been way off a lot of the time. My mind thinks 20s, 30s, 40s and maybe early 50s. Both of you being north of 75 is awesome. The stories of high school sports you must have and the knowledge you bring is very valuable. I have a great appreciation of it so thank you for your contributions in these message board discussions.
An 8 team conference would be ideal. That gives you two non-conference games to make some money on a local rival or go play whoever you want. Seymour has struggled over the years filling three non-conference games. River schools are in the same boat, you’re going to Louisville and getting your ass kicked or you’re driving three hours.
I saw Jasper scrimmage GS. They are running the typical Hart Spread offense. IZ, OZ, Power, Counter. Lots of combination routes designed to defeat certain coverages. My opinion is they would not be able to hang with GS this season, mostly due to OL and DL size and play.
The fact that they went 1-11 last year, lost any and every player worth a salt to the portal, and have EIGHTY-TWO new faces on this years roster.
Of the 5 teams projected to finish at the bottom of the B10 not including Purdue who was picked dead last (NW, Maryland, Mich St, and UCLA) they only get Northwestern on the road.
2.5 is an appropriate O/U win total. You might beat NW.
Tenure criteria for head coaches remaining in their position, and cancellation of any given athletic program are not the same thing. You know as well as I that in so many cases, wins and losses are cyclic, and in many cases dependent on the talent coming through during that period.
I am not going to explain to you the benefits of football beyond W's/L's. If you played the sport, you already know. If you haven't ever played the sport, well I don't have the time nor the inclination to explain it to you.
I know it’s a step down for them but I’d love to see Bloomington South and Columbus North in the HHC. I’d hope it would bring up the level of competition as a whole. Jennings County probably won’t be in the HHC much longer so this would ensure we get back to eight members.
