  1. I guess it shouldn’t be too surprising that the media has glommed onto this story now. To me, it illustrates the difference between the coaches and the fans/media. Some thoughts: 1. 1/3 of all portal entrants are grads, and there has been a clear preference to take developed players to plug gaps on rosters. 2. coaches would always prefer to be as old as possible without sacrificing production—no college team needs to get younger if they’re trying to compete. IU’s roster build isn’t some novel approach. 3. I’d wager that the teams that recruit the most portal guys will naturally skew older. 4. I’d wager that the national champion has typically been among the oldest teams each year. 5. IU’s story confuses people, and the relative age of the roster has been put forward as a novel and simple explanation as a media product. 6. it is easier to get older during transition periods and most likely to happen at places where the program has been moribund. 7. Cignetti and staff deserve a ton of credit for player evaluation and culture building.

  2. Terrible coaching decisions by Sean Payton cost his team a trip to the Super Bowl.

  3. (Was going to post this in the MIC thread but thought it might derail that one) If my math is correct, the HCC and MIC now have equal numbers of members. I would like to propose the following: Week 1 of every season is now the HCC/MIC Showdown. Teams play based on conference standings from the previous season (someone else can figure out how to do the Home/Away part of this....reply with ideas) A hypothetical week one schedule for 2026 (can't really do it accuratley because CG/Car weren't actually in last year so I went of Sagarin, I broke the HCC ties based off head to head) Brownsburg vs Carmel Westifeld vs LN Fishers vs Center Grove HSE vs LC Avon vs Warren FC vs BD Zionsville vs Pike Noblesville vs North Central How's that for a week one of Indiana High School football???? If it helps, could have the schools make some agreement to split the gate revenue. The AD's can smell the $$$$$$$ already!!

  4. OH that box won't get shut anytime soon. Schools who add the fees to everyone to support athletics won't ever go away Geographical location of course will matter and yes there will be a gap of the Haves and Have nots For Instance: Lets say FORD motor group wants to put logo on All Michigan Schools .... do they pay the same AD price to UM as they do to Eastern Michigan.... me says NOPE

  5. Stop the stupid taunting and yapping. You just severely hurt your team 27 (Seattle).

  6. I think that is a very real possibility. The Irish will definitely have a chip on their shoulder. I don’t see Freeman stepping off the gas when they are beating on a team either.
