  1. Merrillville will have to play a perfect game against Westfield. They do have a chance to win, but watching Westfield dismantle Homestead just shows that Indy is still a cut above FW 6A schools and possibly still Merrillville. Should hopefully be one of the better games Friday. Hobart's defense was legit last year when we watched them play EN. You are not going to lose too many games forcing 5 turnovers. They will match up well with Marion and should take that game if they can limit the big plays. Ben Davis is interesting. I remember reading awhile back someone predicted that the Giants would upset CG in the semi state. Will it happen? Probably not, but this year has been nothing less than crazy.
  2. Interesting. What would they have to do to no longer be part of the Archdiocese? What benefits do they gain from being part of the Archdiocese? I am not familiar with it at all, so just curious. Also interesting that Cathedral would help draft the rules and then not sign them..
  3. Luers has a great shot at winning a state title this year. Zionsville is a 6A schools playing in 5A for this cycle because of the Elkhart consolidation. Again you are arguing something that everyone here from the SAC agrees on and that is the 6A schools need to do something to be more competitive. Every New Haven fan I have met including you thinks they are the best thing since sliced bread. They play a weak schedule the first half of the year and come in undefeated until losing to EN, CC, Dekalb and Leo. You can't honestly think they'll be competitive in the SAC when they cannot compete in the NE8. Also talking about walking papers, the puppies got theirs from 1-9 South Side.
  4. Again, the only class the SAC hasn't had success is in 6A, but who outside the MIC has? Nobody. There were 3 SAC teams playing for Regional titles last week and there are 4 state championships in the last 5 years. If you want South Side and Wayne to gain and extra victory every year while watching Snider, Homestead and Carroll mercy rule them in the 1st half, then yes they would be a great addition. At this point adding New Haven would be as beneficial as adding Prairie Heights.
  5. Had the pleasure of sitting next to the fan you are speaking of... a muzzle instead of a mask would have been appropriate to say the least.. Marion flat out did things that EN had not seen this year (having 4 guys around a punt then watching Marion take it the other way for 6 comes to mind.) Stamps and Silmon were able to break off some big plays that EN couldn't afford to give up. I think Hobart limits the big plays and pull this one out by 10.
  6. "Big Brother in the east" doesn't quite fit if the best win they have in years is over a 1A school playing in 2A. Also losing to the worst team in the SAC doesn't help their cause either. Luers has done well in every shootout they have gotten into this year so I would agree with your statement. I would expect to see a score similar to the Andrean score, but I have said this before with this Luers team and it usually ends up being a 45-41 type game..
  7. We've discussed what the SAC needs to do for the bigger schools to be competitive. Again the SAC is the most successful conference in NE Indiana, but they also represent 5 of the classes. Luers has a great shot at playing for a state title this year and Concordia played the best team in 3A the best so far this post season. No need to call anyone lap dogs lol, I know it's hard for the little sister to the east to see how much success other Fort Wayne schools have while struggling to go .500 in a conference it should dominate... The last 5 years has given the SAC 3 state titles, sure seems like a decline...
  8. I have learned he has no rhyme or reason behind anything he posts. I've asked him multiple times to explain his logic and it just gets ignored.
  9. You will never cononvince me that playing Marion anything like the super bowl for Eastbrook. You're talking about a team that's played for a state title 3 times out of the last 5 years. Nothing like the NE8 IMO. It's a lot more like the NHC. Jeff beats up on smaller schools like Homestead used to and then loses early in the post season just like Homestead used to. Marion and Harrison are like EN and Carroll were in the NHC. The biggest difference are there are a lot of football teams in the NCC that are consistently not very good, unlike the NE8/NHC where Bellmont is the only team that consistently seems to struggle.
  10. Totally agree. Concordia's offense is going to really need to step it up this week and the defense cannot afford to fall apart like the Carroll game. If Concordia plays a perfect, mistake free game then this will be close.
  11. 6A- Homestead (10-1) at Westfield (10-1)= Homestead by 1 in OT 5A- Bishop Dwenger (10-1) at Zionsville (5-5)= Dwenger by 10 3A- Concordia Lutheran (6-5) at Bishop Chatard (10-1)= Chatard by 21 2A- Bishop Luers (6-6) at Tipton (10-2)= Luers by 3
  12. Guess what high school football isn't about the fans, it's about the kids. If I can't attend a game for the rest of the season, but they can still play that's 100% a trade off that anyone can live with. See above. How would you like to see Ben Davis forfeit because they ignored the precautions and someone tested positive? This has been a unique year and we are a couple weeks away from the state title. I think we should be willing to do anything it takes to see that the season is able to finish.
  13. It's was always fun watching the stadium's grass disappear from week to week 😂
  14. Offensively for Chatard I would agree. Looks like they are averaging about 11 less points a game than last year, but their defense is also really good. I still like Chatard by 3 tds, but we could also see a 10-0 type of game.
  15. I think they could still do 25%, but that's still going to limit it to parents of players, cheerleaders, etc. I know a lot of people struggled to get tickets early in the season when the capacity was limited. Marion county will be the big one. Allowing no fans in Marion county wouldn't shock me at all.
  16. I would expect to see parents only after this Friday.
  17. Concordia's defense is really good. Their offense has been hit or miss all season even when Davis has been in the lineup. I just don't think they can score enough against and I think it will be similar to last year and the Trojan's will extend the lead in the second half.
  18. Great prediction. I'd say Luers is gonna beat Eastside 56-49 🙃 (this is the thread for last week's game)
  19. Totally agree. They were also still settling in a new QB after losing the one they spent all last year developing. If the two played again with everyone healthy I don't think it would be much of a game.
  20. Concordia was also without their starting QB for week 2 and 3. If he had played during the Homestead game in week 2 I think the Cadets could have definitely won. If they were to play again though I wouldn't expect it to be as close as week 2.
  21. GAME TIME: 7:30 pm ET, East Noble. COACHES: James Bell, 9-3 in 1st year at Marion. Luke Amstutz, 79-24 in 9th year at East Noble, 105-39 in 13th year overall. SAGARIN RATINGS: East Noble, 70, 59th overall, 11th in 4A. Marion, 68.47, 66th overall, 15th in 4A. LAST OUTING: Marion defeated Delta, 38-21. East Noble defeated Leo, 10-0. OPPONENTS' RECORDS: Marion 56-62. East Noble 63-55. SERIES LAST 35 YEARS: No meetings. jh PREDICTION: East Noble, 24-23. I will be the first to say I am pretty shocked EN has made it this far. Having watched this team several times throughout the year I did not think they would bounce back to beat, let alone shut out Leo. I know next to nothing about Marion, but I know they like to throw the ball which EN has been pretty good at defending this year, especially with the return of Zolman. I saw some highlights of the Delta game and it just looked like Delta's secondary let WR's run right past them. I will take EN 28-21.
  22. Concordia is playing really good football right now. Their defense was good enough to slow down the offensive juggernauts in the SAC, but Chatard is a different animal. Having watched them beat Merrillville, Concordia will need to play a perfect game and then some. Can't afford to make mistakes on either side of the ball because Chatard will make them pay for it. I like the Trojans by 3 tds.
  23. Out of the 4 teams, Concordia is the only one who is in trouble and need of a miracle on Friday. You are really good at making these kinds of statements, but awful at backing them up.
  24. I agree with the logic, the only downfall is what we saw against Homestead where one penalty on offense absolutely kills the offense and forces them to get away from the 3 1/2 yards a play mentality. If I was Warsaw I would be looking to replace Huntington North ASAP - any of the teams you listed above would be much better than beating up HN for the next however many years. It will also help see what the competition has to offer when it comes to tournament time. Working out the kinks in the early weeks could be done in the summer with scrimmages (hopefully we get back to normal times we these can actually occur...)
  25. Just curious from your perspective do you think Bart Ball will be able to compete with top Indy teams? Would love to see Warsaw schedule a team from the MIC or HCC instead of beating up on Huntington North.
