  1. Agreed, but that's been the year so far. At least the game is being played, would have hated to see another forfeit.
  2. Just got word Leo will have some players out for tomorrow's game against EN. This could make this game a bit more interesting tomorrow night.
  3. What do you count as the north because Carmel has represented the north in 6A more than any other team so you can't exclude them. There are also HCC teams that play in the north so not sure how you can exclude them either.
  4. EN looked horrible against Dekalb. If they come out and play like that again, even with all the changes they've made they will lose. Leo has a running back who was out all season who will be making an appearance this week and they just gives them another weapon. Crawford also matches up really well with Zolman. I would expect to see a battle between those two especially when EN is in an obvious passing situation.
  5. If Chesterton beats Elkhart I would agree with this in 6A. I don't see it happening, but you never know. I disagree on the Merrillville point. Jeff hasn't beat a quality team this year and Merrillville having been beaten pretty badly by 3A Chatard doesn't make me love them in the rest of the tournament. If they can't beat Chatard they have a long way to go before they'll be able to compete with the big boys of 6A. Hobart and Andrean have a great shot at representing the region in the state finals, much more so than Chesterton and Merrillville.
  6. If that's true New Haven might as well begin the contraction process because they lost to the worst team in the SAC.
  7. Luers can't get into another shootout especially if Hale is injured. I think this will be similar to last year, low scoring affair with whoever scores 21 coming out on top. Wouldn't hold your breath on anyone letting you know for sure up until game time on Friday. Last I heard was doubtful he'd play Friday.
  8. 6A Homestead vs Warsaw - Warsaw dished out a nice helping of bart ball to Carroll, but Homestead's defense is a lot better than Carroll's. Homestead by 21 5A Dwenger vs North - Dwenger is beatable, a couple good bounces and turnovers and this could go North's way. Dwenger by 7 4A Leo vs East Noble - Leo shutout EN when they met in the regular season, EN was without Zolman who is healthy and playing great football. EN by 1 3A Norwell vs Concordia - Both teams playing good football. Look for this to be a low scoring affair. Norwell by 3 2A Luers vs Eastside - Didn't think I would see the day where Eastside topped Luers, but I think we see it two years in a row. Eastside by 14. 1A AC vs Southwood - Don't know much about either team. Southwood by 7 1A SA vs Madison Grant - Nobody has been able to slow SA down and that doesn't change this week. SA by 35.
  9. Carroll is finished with that score. Warsaw executed perfect Bart ball and forced some huge turnovers. The game next week against Homestead should be interesting.
  10. Warsaw doing exactly what they needed which is force turnovers. Huge fumble by Becker.
  11. The thing about Warsaw that I question is letting up 35 points to Huntington North and 28 to Goshen. Were these in garbage time? I know the HN game was the first of the season, but if HN put up 35 that would scare me because they are not a good football team. I don't know anything about Goshen other than their record, but 28 was the most they scored this year on a real football team (sorry SB clay.)
  12. Agreed. Englert has made some incredible plays this year.
  13. Bart ball can definitely win Warsaw this game. This was from Blitz so I am sure it is quite accurate. "Becker is responsible for 94.6 percent of Carroll’s total yardage for the season – 2,828 yards out of a total of 2,989." If Warsaw can stop Becker both on the ground and through the air and come out as the more physical team they stand a chance. Carroll will be the best team that Warsaw has played and they will need to play perfect to keep this one close in my opinion.
  14. Just curious if you actually believe this will be an upset. Fairfield hasn't played a good team all year.
  15. Did you miss the other two pages of this thread? Not sure how this is his idea, just simply a follow up of the discussion and offering more specific match ups. Exactly. This mindset is only going to put the bigger FW schools further and further behind the competition.
  16. With Newcomer Northwood is a different team. Had he not been injured in the East Noble game I think Northwood wins that game by 3 scores.
  17. Northwood at Leo - With Newcomer back in the lineup Northwood will give Leo everything they can handle. Leo by 1. East Noble at Dekalb - Nice win last week for Dekalb, but EN is on another level. EN by 42.
  18. What about the other 13 times before 2013?
  19. Oh I completely agree. Last year everyone thought Homestead was going to have a shot, but ran into Carmel. I said it above that 6A is still the MIC vs everyone else and the only non MIC team to even make it to the state finals is Penn. That will change this year with all of the MIC teams playing in the southern half of the bracket, but there is not a team good enough in the north to challenge Center Grove in the finals so another year, another MIC team winning 6A.
  20. Ahh yes poor Dwenger. We all feel so bad for them... Must be so tough to be the #2 5A school, not sure many kids would be able to handle that kind of punishment.
  21. Carroll at Warsaw - Warsaw eats up a lot of the clock, but they cannot keep up offensively. Carroll by 14 Snider at Homestead - Snider has gotten better as the season has gone on, but still not up to par. Homestead by 21 Northrop at North Side - North gets revenge. North by 7 Anderson at Dwenger - Over by the 1st quarter. Dwenger by 56 South Side at Marion - South got a nice win last week, but Marion is a lot better than New Haven. Marion by 21 Wayne at Delta - Same as above. Delta by 28 Concordia at Oak Hill - Concordia's defense is too good. Concordia by 14 Luers at Fairfield - Could see this game going either way. Fairfield by 1
  22. Watching Mooresville play Leo was an eye opener for sure. Leo was my pick as one of the top teams for 4A North and Mooresville dominated every aspect of that game. Sure it was short notice, but Mooresville looked impressive on both sides of the ball. The QB is also a tremendous player, I believe he had a couple big runs in the Leo game and once he got out in space he was gone.
  23. Probably because they would win the small division every single year and that benefits absolutely nobody. Regardless of enrollment Dwenger is competing in 5A and has a great shot at making it to the 5A state finals. They are in my opinion right where they belong.
  24. Agree with you here. It would be tough for FW schools to get on the schedule of the big Indy schools because all of their competition is local. You could potentially get Cathedral make the journey. Homestead, Carroll and Snider would all benefit from playing Cathedral, but so would a lot of Indy schools so given the choice Cathedral would likely stay closer to home.
