  1. No, I got a chance to talk to Coach Zolman on Friday. They will be ready and I honestly expect them to beat Carroll on Friday. They will still struggle against the Indy schools for reasons that have been mentioned on here multiple times.
  2. Great game last night, definitely lived up the expectations. I was very surprised to see Leo have so much success on the final drive, they took what EN gave them on every play. Hopefully the coaching staff gets the point across that beating EN was just the first step. Definitely an emotional moment for Leo as they have never beaten EN in the post season.
  3. Don't get me wrong, I could also totally see tomorrow night's game being a blowout if EN cannot limit the big plays, but between EN or Leo I see the winner of this game making it to semi-state 100%.
  4. I wouldn't be shocked to see EN beat Leo tomorrow. I fully expect EN to bring out all the stops, they have the best player on the field in Rowan Zolman and if they can find ways to get the ball in his hands we will see another close game in Kendallville. EN came back from a 20 point deficit in the first matchup and looked like a completely different team in the second half. If they can limit big plays and score on their first two drives we will have a heck of a game tomorrow night. The big question for EN will be the same as it has been the whole season, which version of their young QB shows up.
  5. Leo at East Noble. EN played the closest game against Leo this season with a nice 2nd half comeback and a chance to tie it with under a minute left. DJ Allen sat out last week against Dekalb, but I would expect him to make the start at EN. Should be another good game in Kendallville if EN can limit big plays.
  6. Man North has had Covid issues all season. Was really looking forward to what this team could do, but not sure they've been at full force all year.
  7. Michigan City will be a tough out in sectional 10 which has both Mishawaka and Concord. Warsaw can beat Carroll and Homestead. The issue that might run into with both of these teams is that if they fall behind they can have a hard time getting back into the game. Last year Warsaw was the more physical team against Carroll and it showed. Northridge seems to have been hit with the injury bug, but they will be competing in Sectional 19 with East Noble and Leo. A ton of people are looking ahead to a rematch between Leo and EN, but Northridge showed last year that they are capable of beating either of those teams. I'm sure @NLCTigerFan07 can provide a better breakdown, but from the outside looking in this is how I see it.
  8. Carroll at South Side Dwenger at Concordia Northrop at Luers Wayne at Snider Homestead at North Side Pretty stale week, but you never know what might happen.
  9. First time in awhile I can say I don't remember any fans offering their advice to the officials. Pretty clean game and they let them play, so there should be no complaints.
  10. This. Snider has two tough games to end the season, and they probably have the best chance to ruin Luers perfect season. The secondary looked A LOT better than the first couple weeks and they seemed to take full advantage of having a week off.
  11. A great game with great officiating as well. Leo did a great job getting EN to chase points with the 2 pt conversations. Definitely a game of two halves, this has the makings for a great matchup in sectionals (probably week 1 if we're being honest here.) But I am not discounting Northridge having a chance to upset either of these teams.
  12. Really looking forward to sectional 19. 3 teams in the top 10 of 4A through week 4. I have enjoyed seeing Northridge turn around since the 2013 season and glad to see the defense is picking up where they left off.
  13. https://outsidethehuddle.net/2021/09/16/oth-game-of-the-week-leo-at-east-noble/ Nice article on this match up. For people unfamiliar with players on either side, this does a decent job of highlighting some of the key players on both sides.
  14. Leo's secondary is pretty good. Crawford matches up well with Zolman and will limit the fade balls EN likes to throw. If it comes down to the passing attack how comfortable are they going to be with the sophomore QB? Leo will get pressure on him during obvious passing situations.
  15. Should be a great game on Friday in Kendallville. Both teams have established dominate run games, but both teams are about to have their biggest tests so far this season. Leo's line is dominate and with Livingston and Allen playing on both sides of the ball we will see what EN's line is made of. EN will also need to watch for the trick plays, seems like every year Leo is able to catch them sleeping with some sort of trick play. First team to get to 28 wins this one. I'll take Leo 28-14.
  16. Carroll at Dwenger Concordia at Northrop Luers at North Side Snider at Homestead South Side Wayne
  17. I'm glad Leo's NE8 championship helped them in the post season last year. I'm sure they wouldn't trade that for the sectional championship and a chance to compete in the regional.
  18. It's just a hypothetical situation lol. A NE8 title means nothing if you can have a chance to improve your team and win a state championship. If you don't think the situation would improve both Snider and EN you're crazy.
  19. Oh I agree. They also went against one of the best teams ever in Ben Davis.
  20. Why would they play a team that would be one of if not the best team they play all year? Probably because it would make them better and be a great measurement to where they are as a whole. Why did they pick up Penn last year when Leo was the next week? East Noble would be a better game than South Side for Snider and Snider would be a better game than Dekalb. Both teams would get better and it would be competitive. This is definitely not a ridiculous fantasy matchup.
  21. I'm not sure that's a state championship they like to think back on though...They also haven't made it out of sectionals since the 2017 season so not sure if everyone else is just catching up or if there is a decline in talent at Penn as a whole.
  22. I agree with you there. East Noble could forfeit the Dekalb game and play Snider. Would be a great measuring stick for them as a team this year. Plenty of interesting scenarios if you start to think like that 😄 St X would be an amazing game for this Snider team win or lose.
  23. Definitely not a direct quote from Tippmann. My guess would be school size and travel required for some of the teams who are also available tonight.
