They'd lose to Linton but then get their wins in following years including 2018 over us in Logansport. I believe it was in 99 LCC came to Monroe with a stacked squad and whooped us. LB core was outstanding. They had their run when we were down & then beat us in 2019 at LCC on their way to another title over Lutheran in a barn burner. Now the last 2 years Lutheran has done the same at state to us. If we could have won say a quarter of those, it would have been awesome.

No worries... I respect the AC program... they won a State Title... so they Know what it takes... i've been around since 3 class FB... sooo when someone like BTF puts his credibility on the line making a bonehead statement like 90/80% of 1a Titles would go to this AC squad... its just absurd... the closest thing to that I can remember was when 84? Sheridan fans thout they could win the BiG School Title... 😄  I'm sure their staff knew better... but hey it's alotta fun to speculate!  😊

With week 7 in the books... id guess Triton Central has an edge to win 2A... not to say someone else in 2a south couldnt knock em off.. 2a north is an absolute free 4 all... id give a slight edge to Luers right now if I had to choose... as for Lcc... sag has them way up ther right now... n im not sure they can get by the Zebras with the way Tippy Valley dismantled WL... too bad TV is in the Sec of Death... that Sec is absolutely loaded... maybe more so than I can recall... n dats alotta yrs!!   Id still say 2a overall is not as strong at the top as in yrs gone by... jmho

Great week to get a gage on what appears to b a down year in 2A... Lcc taking it on the chin vrs Guerin, WL and couldnt score vrs Ham Heights.. with Tippy Valley vrs WL (Tippy having blown out Rodchester) and Andrean vrs Chatard.... 2a north may get a little clearer...  aaaaahhh gotta love the transitive property of HS football... 🤔😄

It feels like a down year for a lot of teams across the state. I've been paying attention to a lot of teams in the northern part of the state for 2A. Feels more wide open than it ever has. Other than Chatard in 3A, 1A and 3A feel kind of feel the same way. Could make for a great first couple of rounds of sectionals to start the playoffs. Agree... still seems like alotta the the same suspects... tho not as strong... the Zebras and Knights appear to on a collision course again... not sure... but think a Zebra win puts Lcc in 1A??

Sadly we all know that rivalry came to an end due to the continual riots that accompanied them... glad that's in the past.. 😇

I never won that argument.. 😆  42 has a rightful claim... their members beat the so called National Champs and they were never beaten... hard to argue that... think the final state poll had them around 5th?

WL lore says the undefeated 42 team.. scored on once.. coached by Malcomb Mackey ast coach Gorden Straley..was National Champs. As members of that team forming the Meridian Athlectic Club, were said to have defeated the National Champ Junior Bears at Soldier Field... at least it's how I heard the story.. 😁

There will be many alumni players, coaches and others there to celebrate a storied history.

Through 2020, West Lafayette HS had the fourth most wins of any school in the State.  They have numerous other accomplishments that are listed in the IFCA record book as well.

I hope to take some pictures of some of the festivities associated with this special night and post them on this thread.

Awesome!  Pop was a Sr on the 42 team. Still have his letter sweater... Great Depression kids thew nothing away!

The group of guys that were part of the four-peat teams have kids that are getting old enough to play youth ball.  My wife ran in to a family the other day that's transferring into the parish from one of the other area parishes and recognized the name as a kid that I coached in youth ball back in 2002.  One of the other kids from that same group just had his 4th kid last season.  Not sure about the Anthrops, but there's definitely names on that squad who had family members whose names also echoed on Friday night ... and probably some coming up the ranks.

I would suggest it's more a reflection of rule changes than anything else... the typically less Beefier team has Way fewer TOOLS these days... to even out the line play... places a premium on creativity, timing, anticipation.... ect

WL has beaten LCC the last 7 years.  WL only beat LCC 37-7 this year.  That is one point better than last year when WL won 52-21.  Rensselaer, Benton Central and Tipton, OH MY!

This 7 yr stretch may now hold the record for the longest losing streak to WL in Lcc history... previously held by Lcc 70-75??  As for the HC.. all that's left is to determine who gets WL... Western or HH.....
