Great job by the 1A crew, IMO! At this point of the tournament if we have "officials in the stands" that know .ore than those on the field.... good luck!
No one is going to be perfect. But 1A was damned close! Wonderful

If Snider bumps up, who drops down, school with lowest enrollment I would think?
Adams Central may be back-to-back runner-up but still moved up to 2A. Personally, I don't like this as I feel a school without a State Championship should not be bumped up.
Ask Linton-Stockton what THEY think? This has been done before to a school.....
Should be a 'grace' allowed in these situations? I think so!!!

Game over.

Didn’t Bally go bankrupt?
I know they filed. But I still have app access to Bally.
No idea of what is going on with them.
-
Are they NOT being live cast via Bally Sports?

Halftime.
North Posey looked to be in control. They were up 14-0 when Southmont finally put together a drive that crossed into North Posey territory and scored with around 10 seconds left in the first half.
Absolutley, NO updates for this game going on... Thank you @sr1

The older I get the more I realize it’s really never about missed calls or mistake calls. At the HS level…if you’re as good as you’re supposed to be it handles itself.
Not sure what that means. But the call was correctly applied vs. Tri-West in this situation.

I can’t even listen to the broadcast. Just checking Twitter.
Figured I'd head off the ridiculousness.
This also happened in my game earlier in the playoffs. And I think in another if I can recall.

Kick, catch interference..
Ball was never grounded or touched by GS, before TW gained possession.

Eagles have outscored their first two playoff opponents 77-0. They get Canton McKinley next. Pretty nice when your home field is the Hall of Fame Stadium. If I recall, I spent my 16th birthday playing Canton McKinley at what was then known as Fawcett Stadium.
Just don't STEAL anything from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.... LOL! 😆

When it goes THERE! You personally know how I feel.
A fantastic contest, now completely mucked up by "others".

I'm sorry I have crossed it 😔 I am a bit desensitized for that kind of situation as i have had to deal with it ....NRRAIDER2001 your right I'll see myself out
Good.
Now answer MY earlier question? Mr. "Every Offensive Play"?

Kind of, they didn't play each other in regular season, so not sure what to compare this game too?
Effort!

Did my comment about this game mirroring: NH v. East Noble a few weeks ago, age well?

Congrats to Penn and NorthWood on sectional championships! A little surprised by the Penn/Warsaw score. NorthWood/Northridge was a classic. Odd, but true: both teams are 0-3 @ home the past 3 years.
The TESTOSTERONE of specific players was an issue! Trust me, we don't like "face time"
But a FANTASTIC HS Football game on both sides.
Congratulations to the NLC, I was impressed by the fans, players, and the atmosphere of the Sectional Championship Game.
Truly what IHSAA FB is all about.

The NW @ NR game is absolutely outstanding!
Those that believe Coach Andrews isn't the answer...PULEEZE! He an absolutely great Coach and mentor for that program!
Coach Eppley @ NR is the same for that program!
This one has CLASSIC written ALL over it.....

So on the free kick following a fair catch - the "unusual rule" as referenced in this article:
Ball can be spotted anywhere for the kicker?
Thanks.
In this case, YES.

The thing that upsets me the most (not gonna get a lot of traction on a forum like this, though).
Is that many don't see themselves as TEACHERS 1st. They see themselves as 'hype men' within a program, 1st and foremost. There are numerous programs that we as officials can readily see are there to 'win'...but they also can quickly turn off the testosterone and get back to coaching/teaching. It's a mutual respect thing.
I am positive that a particular coach who's kinda "Caveman like" wants to win every time he steps on the gridiron. But I also know that when the rubber hits the road, he (and his staff) have the understanding that what they do and react to, will directly impact the young men and women within their program.
This is true of the overwhelming majority of HS coaches that I have encountered.
But when I deal with those that see a 'game' as more than that of a 'game'. It truly concerns me as to what is going on within that program. The focus is skewed to something else. Parents/Boosters/Players/Fans all then become the mob which we as officials then have to deal with. And you wonder why we can't recruit new officials?
As much as we like to be fans of the players on a Friday night. Remember MOST of these players will be finished with athletics when the last whistle blows in a loss during the playoffs. You can count on 1 hand the number of players that have made it to the NFL in a significant manner within a 5 year period from this state.
When its all said and done, what do you want YOUR program remembered for? Success, of course. But sometimes that success comes in the form being able to reach young people and change their lives in a positive way. Victories not withstanding!

My understanding is this can happen after a touchback and before a PAT....correct? are there other instances?
If the ball was kicked OOB on a particular side BEFORE it reached the goal line. You DO NOT have the option of choosing a hash. The ball should be placed on the hash that the ball went OOB.
If there is a penalty administration, that is marked off. And the ball is STILL placed on the side the ball was kicked OOB.

I cannot say how fantastic the officiating has been so far. I'm sure there will.be others who will say otherwise...but it's damned wonderful to this point.
