  1. I believe that Central and Memorial played for a trophy known as the "Mangy Lion". So to placate BOTH schools with consolidation, it honestly makes sense to have the moniker of Lions.
  2. I would expect leading into this game, a steady stream of former Bishop Luers players will be making: Zoom calls, tweets, phone calls and the like. All focusing on the 'legacy of the program. Now what the current players do, and how they process that information, is anyone's guess. It is shocking...but not unpredictable that they made it this far in the tournament.
  3. And I must apologize Lysander.... The "board" of the IHSAA made a change in the summer that extended the 'Mercy Rule' to the Semi-State that most officials did not receive an update on on until the past week....go figure! So this week (because of advertisers) will be the last week of the "Mercy Rule".....
  4. I don't post things that didn't happen. Anyway, its Semi-State, and the Eagles have a chance to represent the North at LOS. Not at all sure if the infraction may have altered the outcome, but it was in fact an infraction that was missed....
  5. They aren't OFFICIALS who are in tuned with other aspects of things. Y'all say stuff like "out of the pocket" and he isn't the QB (How can that be roughing?)....... 7-2-5: Altered the numbering exception to: Exception 1: On first, second or third down, when a player sets or shifts into a scrimmage-kick formation as in 2-14-2a, the snapper may be a player numbered 1 to 49 or 80 to 99. If Team A has the snapper in the game under this exception, Team A shall have at least four players wearing number 50-79 on its line of scrimmage. The snapper in the game under this exception must be between the ends and is an ineligible forward pass receiver during that down unless the pass is touched by B (7-5-6b). Exception 2: On fourth down or during a kick try, use our present rule.
  6. Good Luck to the Starfires on Friday! Enjoy the game, and the atmosphere. (I still say WIFEY wins this battle)
  7. You can try to "give yourself" a modicum of 'macho'... But you know that the COUCH isn't better than the bed! You'd be saying go Jets in a heartbeat....then backtracking each time it came up.....
  8. You might have LAST year at Regional.... 😃 Guessing that the 'wifey' might have MADE you!!!
  9. NOT to belabor the Dwenger/Zionsville game again....BUT? Wasn't there a "numbering exception" violation on the 3rd down FG that won the game that no one seems to have brought up? Clearly #90 is lined up as a guard on the FG try....obviously not a # between 50-79.... And that is far beyond the judgement call on the DPI a few moments earlier...
  10. Fort Wayne (FWCS) has 5 HS as of now... Wayne, North Side, South Side, Snider and Northrop. Not sure what the 6th (FWCS High school) is. The other 5 schools that make up the SAC are: Carroll (NACS), Homestead (SACS), Concordia (PP - Lutheran) and 2 additional (PP - Catholic) Bishop Luers and Bishop Dwenger.
  11. I only read ONE reference to the Circle City Conference. There is NO WAY that you can't say that that collection of schools have far outshone some of those mentioned at the start of this thread. They get my vote as being on the UPSIDE!
  12. Ageeed. How about you just step aside from the 'tackle'? And honestly I could care less about the intonations of the broadcasting crew...
  13. This entire thread in a nutshell... https://www.facebook.com/147262525292598/posts/4189863274365816/
  14. Ain't that the truth. Yall react to things in a timely and efficient manner...
  15. Thank goodness for "Temptation" for glossing the information already put forward way beyond his showing up regarding the site change. Some of us would NEVER have been availed of the situation! 🤣🤣
  16. Agreed totally, and ya'll thought that I was just "blowing smoke".....
  17. 2nd largest City. But Lake County (da Region) far exceeds Fort Wayne.
  18. Agreed. Its a sad scenario that we are in right now. A team outside of the MIC/HHC will break the cycle. But that may be an outlier for a year or so. If the Northern 6A wants to compete, they should play one another (or others) take a loss or 2 and get stronger down the road....
  19. I have no dog in the fight. But its obvious that the SAC either needs to contract (in FB ONLY) or expand and have divisions in order to give them a subjective understanding of what they are The parochial schools in the conference (as well those in 4A) benefit from the competition. Those who don't fit these dimensions, only seem to focus on a conference championship. Then get obliterated once they are outside of the 'comfort' of the conference. As I have said before. The larger/competitive schools in Northern Indiana have NO SHOT at winning a state final unless and until they break away and play one another in their own 'specialized' Football-Only conference! (6A) The MiC has dominated things, now the HHC is also in the mix. Never the Duneland, SAC, NLC, NIC ... Time to think outside of the box, if this is the ultimate objective. Otherwise, its a trip to Indy-land and a red ribbon on the bus ride back home.
  20. Perhaps (they play the game on the field, everyone has an "opinion".... you know the rest) and Yes...
