Yuccaguy replied to a topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I am sure that YOU are correct. Filed from mine 5 years ago, Yet still getting the occasional "I miss, blah, blah, blah from her monthly"...... For all concerned, time to look for better horizons, and good times to come, hopefully..... -
Final USAToday sportspoll

I have one that is an "Aunt"....Times have changed ๐คจ But I totally agree with you, and those that are in line with the NATIONAL rankings boards that have CG @ #5 Nationally. Who cares what those think about "what if's and what could have happened"? Who's to say if the player had caught the TD pass, that CG may not have stormed down the field and scored? Besides, I am still dealing with that GOOFBALL who thought he saw a 'change of possession' and clearly upon "replay review"... was absolutely BLIND!. That guy sucked! I am gonna deal with him, next time I run into him. Because I know exactly who he is! ๐ -
GEICO State Champions Bowl Series

To bootstrap on what you are getting at @whiteshoes..... I am pretty sure that Lucas Oil Stadium (potentially using that as a host site for multiple games) is a heck of an fringe benefit to IN for some of these 'institutions' to come here, rather than vice versa.... We also have the NCAA and NFHS National Headquarters in Indianapolis. Not to mention the Hotel accommodations and Convention Center in downtown Indy. Were the situation to be "vice versa". I am pretty sure that broadcast stations, and their advertisers (sponsors) would be MORE THAN ABLE to afford sending any team anywhere in order to broadcast that contest. -

No need for our schools to 'prove' anything to anyone as far as I am concerned. But if a relaxed atmosphere could be allowed during the IHSAA regular season, for those schools who have the opportunity to do so...They should be allowed to play outside of a 300 mile radius. I can assure you, the number of schools would be minimal; Due to expenses, travel, focus on education....etc. Postseason or otherwise (National Championship) aspirations are not, nor should be the purpose of IN schools. Let others rank and pontificate on that. -

University City (MO) near my old stomping grounds in the Saint Louis area, played an Evansville area school a few years ago, if I remember. I am positive that East Saint Louis, IL also has made the trip. Bowling Green, KY has been to Warren Central also, as well as Gibson Southern heading down to BG, KY and playing South Warren . These are absurdly stretching the "mileage parameters" that exist (for some reason).... but seems to only happen in Southern IN for the most part. Other than an occasional Bishop Luers vs. a Columbus OH Catholic HS (when the SAC was an 8 team conference).... These interstate matchups are few and far between. Thank goodness for Cathedral and their seeking out the 'best of the best' as far as the IHSAA allows.....??? -
And so begins the MEA CULPA, and an attempt to repair one's potential future coaching opportunities..... JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Urban Meyer believes the Jacksonville Jaguars will eventually become a great franchise but is sorry that he's not going to be there to witness it. Meyer told NFL Network on Friday he was "heartbroken" over the way his 11-month tenure with the franchise ended. "I just apologize to Jacksonville," Meyer told NFL Network. "I love Jacksonville. It's one of the reasons I took the job. I still think Shad [Khan is] a great owner. It's heartbreaking. I just had a dream of it becoming a destination place with a new facility he agreed to build and some day to walk into that stadium where it's standing room only. Because I know how bad the people of Jacksonville want it. "So, I'm just heartbroken that we weren't able to do that. I still believe it's going to be done. It's too good of a place." Meyer was fired early Thursday after going 2-11 and committing a string of embarrassing missteps that included two viral videos of him behaving inappropriately with a woman who wasn't his wife, reports of him berating his assistant coaches, trying to hire a strength coach who was accused of making racist remarks and bullying Black players at Iowa and having No. 1 overall draft pick Trevor Lawrence alternate days with the first team with Gardner Minshew during training camp. EDITOR'S PICKS Lawrence: Coaching change gives Jags 'clarity' Sources: Jags don't plan to pay Meyer's contract Former Jaguars place-kicker Josh Lambo on Wednesday also accused Meyer of kicking him during warm-ups before an August practice, an allegation that Meyer disputed in the NFL Network report. Sources told ESPN earlier Saturday that the Jaguars fired Meyer with cause and don't intend to pay him for the remaining four years on his contract. On Friday, a spokesman for Khan released a statement to The Associated Press that said Khan made the decision to fire Meyer after last Sunday's 20-0 loss at Tennessee. Yet the Jaguars allowed Meyer to spend the next three days in the building, meet with the media twice and oversee Wednesday's practice. Meyer left the facility shortly after the news of Lambo's allegations broke on Wednesday afternoon and did not return, and the Jaguars released a statement from Khan announcing the firing at 12:45 a.m. ET Thursday. Meyer's last game was the fourth shutout loss in franchise history and the first since Week 5 of the 2009 season. The Jaguars managed just 192 yards of total offense, the fourth game this season in which they had 200 or fewer yards. Video of the postgame handshake between Meyer and Titans coach Mike Vrabel, who spent two seasons on Meyer's staff at Ohio State, wasn't a good look for Meyer. It lasted one second, and Meyer wouldn't look at Vrabel. Meyer said after the game that "losing sucks. That's all I can tell you. It eats away at your soul." Two days before that game, Meyer said he still had confidence he could win at the NFL level but that it was a different process than he thought. "Yeah, I do. Most certainly," Meyer said. "It hasn't exactly materialized the way I expected it to have, the experience of winning games. I knew that this was somewhat of a build. I also really believe that we have plenty of good enough players to go win games. I still believe that. That's why I get so disappointed sometimes with our coaching staff or myself, because I think we can do better than we're doing. Really disappointed." And now, a little more than a week later, he is sorry it didn't work out.

I'd love to post Eddie Murphy's response to "HALF".... Seems that that is a starting point for (Sub)Urban Meyer in this situation. (YouTube it...kinda vulgar though for the GID) Again, (Sub)Urban Meyer will pop up in a Mid-Major or KY, IU, MO program at some point to try and salvage any shred of his former self in the ensuing years. or perhaps the Fox Sports pregame programing. A total disgrace of a HC at the NFL level at this point. But there are still those who'd welcome him in at the collegiate level. Oh how we all long for the days gone by, when HC's just were IN CHARGE and we all fell in line with the reasoning they gave for the 'programs' they ran.

I thought it would be at Season's End last Saturday evening.... Guess I missed that by 4 weeks.... HE GONE!

Khan needs to just cut bait and move on... Otherwise he is the same as Kroencke was with the Rams and purposefully dooming a franchise in order to MOVE them!

Get the darned I69/I65 6A thing going with FB!!! There is no need for them to look at the future if they are the "outliers(SAC/MIC)" currently other than this situation. I totally believe that they could cobble together a 9 game schedule without any issue amongst the current IHSAA 6A schools who want to participate. DAC do I hear ya????? -

The B12 bent over backwards to allow TX to get the "lion's share" of the monies that they could find. Now it's the SEC's issue. I am guessing that the SEC will be happy to slap OU and TX's arses for the ensuing decade and "put them in their place". -

But I can say, that they were looking for different "horizons" beyond the MIC. The ONLY thing that could screw this up, is if the HCC becomes a "closed conference".... -

I had a conversation with a few members of the HCC earlier this past season about CG and Carmel coming to the HCC. The immediate/universal response was NO (universal adjective) WAY! I wonder what the temperature says now? Are they a better fit in the HCC? Perhaps... But the ripple effects in these impactful Conferences are unbelievable. (Stating the obvious) Just wow, -
The thread being gone is fine. But the actions, attention, reasoning, historical insensitivity, ability to defer to situations that are not at all germane to the situation at hand; Are the exact reason that "Race" should always be discussed on a personal level, in a level headed manner with others who are not "like ourselves". I am always amazed at the deference to the "crime rates" in Chicago, Saint Louis, Detroit...etc. as an answer to anything regarding "race". Do you honestly believe that the occurrences of violence outside of your sphere of life is of any concern to your day-to-day life? Nope, it's a red-herring of an argument! Crime has ALWAYS been higher within those "races" that tend to congregate together. It's the attention to the types of crimes, and how they are perceived within the judicial system that has made this an issue. "Chad" may have had a juvenile digression. But let that be (let's say) Jamal, and with the same situation, he is interpreted as being a criminal more likely to be a threat to the overall society, even though his transgression was of the same magnitude, or even less. This was an OBB conversation, IMO. Kinda hard to discuss this without it devolving.

This dude is OUT as soon as the season ends! I appreciate the effort on the part of the Jags to do something to bump up interest in a franchise that will relocate at some point soon. But his absolute inability to show respect for grown men (professionals) and a coaching staff that HE selected, has clearly become the last straw. I'm positive no one expected a Super Bowl or even playoff appearance from them this season. But Jacksonville's fans did expect a glimmer of hope for good times to come. Meyer has totally shattered (sha-doobie) that hope. Perhaps it's time for him to think about the MAC and start over, if that's his goal. No respectable Collegiate program should even touch him.... Well maybe, Missouri, Kentucky or Indiana should consider him? Can't do much worse, IMO. ๐

Drew Wood (Now at Northridge as an Administrator) has them STEAMROLLING for a few years when he was there. Upon further reflection, I believe that you are correct. Then again, the "ping pong balls" had them facing Snider in the 1st round in 2002. "Seeding"???
