  1. Knightstown was shown as a 0-0 winner over Cambridge City Lincoln. Was that a forfeited game, or a COVID related thing? Seems a bit odd.
  2. Hold tight on the Panthers/Bruins; Saints/Legends and Chargers/Spartans...... Let's see what the week off brings, if anything.....
  3. I agree that tournament experience has to count for something. My question is...as more crews (new) are elevated/pushed/ranked higher through the current sysytem....ASSUMING (and this is a big assumption) that most crews remain in place to advance in the ensuing years. It does compress the number of "old" crews that would/could advance. The system may still favor the "old/original" crews in place when the system was implemented. But it also has led some crews to advance by the bylaws in place for tournament selections.
  4. Is there any caveat to the State giving 50% of the State Finals crews a slot that have NEVER been, a bonus? This also trickles down a few rounds also....in most sports. And yes, 4 of 6 last year were "new" crews....basically.
  5. The topic (from this IDIOT) was about turf at Luers. Then it devolved into Snider getting a separate Stadium and turfing their lower-level facility. I will continue to be oblivious to the reality of things that have been in place for 50 years, and allow you and those of your ilk to continue your PIPE DREAM of tax payer supported facilities that are not now in place, nor will ever be in the near future. Yes, I am a total clown! Thank you, very much.
  6. Agreed. Time to put an end to this convo! Perhaps this is way past just talking about Luers' situation regarding Field Turf. It seems that any conversation...In FW, always turns to Snider and their limitations.....
  7. Talk to your "foremost" Indiana State Senate Representative: Bob "UNIBROW" Morris and see how much help you get in getting any of this off the ground. Talk to the other residents that pay into FWCS, and see if they are willing to pay higher taxes in order to meet your 'suggestion'... Ain't gonna happen! (Jim) Shields Field (a privately financed Stadium on private property) located at 2 major intersections... not necessarily in the middle of a neighborhood....is quite different than the area in which you espouse to do major reconstruction to 2 educational institutions. The traffic would be unbelievable. Who is paying for the overtime needed from policing in order to control traffic? Who is paying for the infrastructure needed to repair off site roads that could be damaged due to the increased traffic? I have lived in SACS for 36 years. The campus of Homestead was totally autonomous, and had multiple alternatives for expansion, regardless of the surrounding neighborhood. Quite a different situation. You can also put NACS (Carroll HS) in the same vain.... Only 2 FWCS HS's fall into the ability for expansion and not impacting the surrounding neighborhood...Wayne and Northrop.
  8. Again, the LOCAL RESIDENTS will and have never allowed a Stadium complex to be in the best interest of the 'neighborhood' in that an alternative situation is currently in place for more than 50 years. Keep up the fight, but like Sisyphus...you are just rolling that rock up a hill....
  9. And somehow I got pulled into a "rabbit-hole" discussing Snider needing a field, and then also turfing Bowser Field (lower-level/practice facility). Heck, ya know I am just gonna TURF my lawn now. I am totally convinced that THIS is the wave of the future! But I will need a sponsorship, I just don't have the revenue.... DONATE TO THE GID!!!!
  10. Both of these "supposedly" happened. As a Lutheran, I am not gonna get the Protestant Reformation going again....So I am not speculating on what the Diocese had/has in mind for the Luers campus. But obviously nothing came of the offers to turf the field.
  11. AGREED...But FWCS is not 'turfing' a lower level field (Bowser)...... AGREED. Now back to the lecture at hand... As I feel that we are in a vortex that is outside of the Luersfield situation. Luers NEEDS turf...no question!
  12. Again, as I said earlier. the NEIGHBORHOOD will not allow a full on Stadium to be put in place at the Bowser Field location. Heck, the extended residents weren't in favor of the Layhmeyer Road facility either. Even capitulating to the neighborhood to construct a Baseball facility off Long Road, they couldn't put in lights. I am befuddled as to where a full on FB Stadium could/would be constructed...perhaps off Coliseum Blvd.? (Old Home Depot location...) But now that brings us to the funding of the construction. Are you sure that the 'ultra-conservative' FW taxpayers would vote for a tax increase to give Snider a stand alone facility; When they seem to be content with the current situation on Friday nights sharing a facility with Northrop?
  13. Snider's Turf Field is located off Cook Road, at a facility named "Spuller Stadium" You changed the entire narrative of "turf fields" by introducing lower level games. That is NOT the topic, nor the thrust of the original post. (Even if you are correct) Unless and until, the Fort Wayne residents on the near NE side agree and allow an expansion of Snider facilities to include a FB Stadium, the current 'sharing of a facility' on Friday nights will continue. I think it is much more incumbent upon FWCS to solve the situations with Wayne/North/South at this time, then deal with the Snider issues later.
  14. Wayne is getting turf AFTER this season. The new Superintendent is also fast tracking turf for North and South...so that issue will be eliminated as it pertains to FWCS. There are all sorts of "rumors" as to why/who offered to fund turf for Luers. No need to get into that...but as of now, they don't have turf. But I assure you that prominent former players did offer to fund a turf field. It just didn't/hasn't happened.
  15. 2A North .... Ain't no joke. Do not assume that I am counting Eastbrook (or a Region team) out of the mix....
  16. Totally agreed. Not sure where the "game" would be be played. But I don't think Luers will play a "home" game before Sectional Finals due to the Luersfield situation. I don't count ANY team out in the tournament: Surprises always happen.
  17. Thanx for the comment, Mitchell! Always good to get Donnie in check!
  18. Sir Hale #2 may have a LOT to say about that. Luers is a multi-dimensional threat. He spoke to me after the Snider game, and I truly believe that he is on a PERSONAL mission .... ground-wise.
  19. Yes the hash marks are not complaint with HS. Perhaps *as a Lutheran...we can reach beyond the Protestant Reformation, and make this happen. I KEED, I KEED!!! Here's why I do HS FB! A 3rd generation of a family that look forward to being involved with education based athletics. I won't be around on the field of play...but I will be as always on the sidelines.
  20. Leo runs the ball! The field was a QUAGMIRE before the game even started, I was there earlier in the week, and DeKalb's field was a total disaster then. Following 3.5 inches of rain for consecutive days, I can't imagine what it like to even try to execute an offensive scheme. The final score says exactly what happened. Leo won, nuff said.
  21. I bet ya they'll be playing a "home game" SOON on someone's turf after the beating that field took last night.
  22. Is Roger Craig playing tomorrow? If not, better raise those knees higher!
