About time.
Now, will young Mr. Brown make enough of an impression during the rest of this season as interim head coach to make him a bona fide contender once the season is over? Based on the Bears remaining schedule it will be tough.
At least that is my take on Mr. Doyel's recent column: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/columnists/gregg-doyel/2024/11/25/ihsaa-mt-vernon-pick-and-choose-transfer-bylaws-they-want-to-follow/76507956007/
Also a story by Mr. Neddenriep: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/11/25/mt-vernon-blocks-cathedral-brothers-eligibility-after-transfer-ihsaa-bylaws-basketball-julien-smith/76569434007/?tbref=hp
Mr. Doyel isn't pulling any punches this time:
Tired of QB Anthony Richardson getting the blame when teammates aren't worth a damn

Since I'm too cheap to shell out an outrageous $20 to the IHSAA, or make a long car drive I'll probably be watching the exciting Purdue @ Michigan State game.
Using Iowa's formula Frankfort High School's, with a 74.2% FRL rate, enrollment classification for football would go from 895 students to 631 students. This should put it firmly in the current 3A classification, down from 4A.
Translation: Send us a lot of money so we can buy a good football team. This is now going on everywhere.
How soon before the pretense of big-time college athletic departments holding it's "students" to any sort of academic competence (aka going to classes) is finally done away with, and these athletes become employees of the school's athletic department with no academic responsibilities whatsoever?
Two of my observations so far:
* For Westfield having "Rocks" on the helmet and "Shamrocks" on the jersey is bit redundant. Pick one or the other.
* Why oh why do schools continue to add black or gray to their uniforms when neither is an official school color? They think it makes them look "tougher"? It's stupid.

It's clear Mr. Neddenriep can't bring himself to pick against a p/p school.

Trump Targets Birthright Citizenship and Calls for Military Role in Deportations

Agreed. Good luck with getting a constitutional amendment passed to effectively nullify birthright citizenship.
And using the military to enforce deportations should be illegal, not the that legality of something ever stopped Mr. Trump.
Agreed. Maybe he sees the youth talent well drying up at Kokomo and decided to flee, like the elder Colby did at Frankfort.
And frankly I see the Western job as step down for the young Mr. Colby. IMHO he would be a perfect hire for Noblesville.
