  1. Baker Mayfield’s not as bad as you think: https://deadspin.com/baker-mayfield-s-not-as-bad-as-you-think-1848668336 A compelling argument for Mr. Mayfield becoming a Colt?
  2. I thought that became American Tackle Football at least a couple of decades ago? At least according to many on this forum.
  3. If you have some prime examples of waste and fraud in Indiana's government school hegemony then please share it.
  4. Why doesn't the game just get rid of pitchers and use a pitching machine? Possibly a lot more hits, aka "action", that way.
  5. Probably. I'm sure there is no waste or fraud in that 85%, do you?
  6. Cutting spending would be nice. Something I am sure you find abhorrent.
  7. Yesterday Mr. Mayfield sent out a tweet "thanking all the Cleveland fans". Does that sound like a QB who is comfortable with his future with the franchise?
  8. Agreed. The passage of the 16th amendment was an act of greed and avarice.
  9. https://www.indystar.com/story/news/politics/2022/03/16/indiana-gov-eric-holcomb-signs-income-tax-cut-into-law/7059127001/ Good. Indiana: Land of (slightly lower) taxes. Too bad they don't cover the growing cost of living via inflation.
  10. No, but they must all have a similar modus operandi. What is it that according to you is making them want to try and "run the school"?
  11. https://deadspin.com/baseball-is-back-but-the-dh-is-everywhere-and-that-s-1848642336 I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I am a purist when it comes to the game. This is a travesty, the abomination that is the DH should have stayed in the inferior American League.
  12. So I take it you would not be the kind of Notre Dame alum/fan/booster to help fund an NIL Collective? You could make a return on your investment. BTW, here is what appears to be the most comprehensive list of current NIL Collectives I could find on the internet: https://businessofcollegesports.com/tracker-university-specific-nil-collectives
  13. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-senate-approves-bill-that-would-make-daylight-savings-time-permanent-2023-2022-03-15/ While I agree we should stop changing clocks twice a year, IMHO we should stay on standard time, not daylight savings time. Staying on DST would mean here in Indiana during the winter months sunrise would not be until 9-9:30am. As a "morning person" this would really stink. And it stays light enough in the summer months without DST.
  14. So who exactly are these parents who are "trying to run the school?"
  15. If the cost to repair a high school football field is that prohibitive then don't host the game. It is that simple. Or maybe host a bake sale or spaghetti dinner night where all the proceeds to go into the football field repair fund.
  16. Part of the challenge and character of the game. You have to remember the origins of football were in rugby, which was designed to be a simulation of war. The battlefield, aka, the football field, could be a nice mowed surface or pockmarked mudhole. Helps coaching staffs and players to be prepared. Unfortunately there are those who want to eliminate any variable they can from the game, and the growth of artificial turf is one of the results.
  17. Thank you. So how many NIL Collectives have formed at Notre Dame?
  18. Can you please elaborate on a couple of those paths?
  19. So "athletic excellence" is now part of most universities' mission statement?
  20. Hmm, I have known a number of homeschooled children that were intelligent, socially adjusted, and were able to get admitted to respected colleges and universities. Just because you would be to lazy to homeschool doesn't mean others are. And why shouldn't parents have some control over their children's education?
