I'm sure Kelce and Reid respect each other, and more importantly, they couldn't care less about the pearl clutching of internet Karens.

Well yes, his job is quite literally to win football games, not protect his own hurt ego. Thankfully Andy Reid is not insecure. The Chiefs didn't lose though. They won, a large part of that owing to the fact Kelce got going in the second half and wasn't benched because he hurt his coach's feelings. And now the only conversation that matters is that the Chiefs are a dynasty and Andy Reid is one of the greatest coaches of all time. The only thing the Kelce outburst mattered for was the memes its spawned. Benching him would have turned this into a bigger deal than it even was.

Well there's a reason Andy Reid has won 3 Super Bowls and everyone here hasn't lol. This is an emotional game played by emotional men. He'd be insane to bench one of the best players on the team because he hurt his feelings. KC doesn't come back in the second half if Reid was as mentally weak as some here.

Cory Yeoman Retires

As a Penn guy yourself, would you prefer they look within or try for someone external? -

Congratulations to Coach Yeoman on a great career leading the Kingsmen. Will be interesting to see what happens here. While they've fallen off a bit in recent years, Penn still has to be considered one of the premier coaching jobs in the state.

The p/p hegemony continues unabated

Not sure how this checks out when Cathedral, Roncalli, and Dwenger are some of the most successful programs in the state at these levels. -
Josh Ringer wins 2023 Mr. Football, per Indy Star. The obvious choice, very well deserved. Congrats to the young man and the EC community!

Seems like a play for the gate you’d get at those games more than anything and to rekindle that historical rivalry. But doesn’t help with making deep runs in 6A. Penn to the DAC when?

Mr. Football 2023

When did the rule that you had to win your position Mr. Football to be considered for overall Mr. Football start? DeSommer didn't win QB Mr. Football in 2013 but still finished 3rd in overall Mr. Football voting -
National Top 100 - November 28

Had the MHSAA finals on cable at home (take notes IHSAA) so I got to see it live. The best INT I’ve ever seen. And a very good game between Belleville and Southfield. -

Only read it for the Chicago teams. Obviously I read the NWI times for the Region. -

Probably why you missed it then. Sun Times actually covers HS FB -

The Indy bias is completely justified by the results and the eye test itself. I think anyone watching that game who was being honest with themselves could see pretty quickly it was men vs boys. Truthfully, and this is probably a hot take, if the past two years have made me think anything, it’s that the HCC (outside of Brownsburg) isn’t actually as good as it’s hyped to be. Westfield and HSE would’ve faced the same fate had they made it to LOS that Carroll and CP did. Still the best conference top to bottom, but most teams a definite tier below the true Indy powers.
-
No offense taken. Brownsburg, Cathedral, and CG would all have blown CP out. I’m not completely delusional about the level of football in my area of the state (unlike others here). You’re right in that 6A South being so much better is a problem in the current set up. Obviously it’s hard when a large majority of the schools sit right in the center of the state. East/West would be interesting (not sure how that would look for travel times though). If they had an actual qualifier I think you could justify any long travel times (as opposed to the first round blowouts you’d get otherwise). Either way this is all pretty mute because the IHSAA ain’t changing it. But not a good look for the Indiana HS FB with the level of competition seen this past weekend.

If anything good came out of watching the broadcast online, it was that Dwight Freeney convinced me to be an organ donor -

That whole quarter killing drive was brutal. East St Louis’s QB going down played a huge role in that ending too. Hard to win with a Freshmen in that situation. -

You watch Cary-Grove vs East St. Louis 2? The first game they played was a classic and they just put on another one.
