Random question here for Warren fans, Why was Warren wearing red socks and belts on Friday night against center grove?

I have two questions.
Why have "senior day" on opening night?
Also, where was any traffic control leaving the lot Friday night? It took almost as much time to get off the lot as it took to get home to the east side of Indy/
Outstanding facility!
Senior day should always be on the first night. Celebrate the seniors first with good weather, start of the year, best crowds, no upset parents, and not having to worry about the feel of the last games for seniors at the end. I love it.

I could be wrong but I saw somewhere that Westfield will play New Pal and Lawrence central next year for their non conference.

Too bad Whiteland and LN just got cancelled. Was really interested in that one.

I don't get Brownsburg. I watched the entire game and saw what I would consider a typical Brownsburg team in a game like this. They had the size and speed to match Ben Davis all over the field. IMO, it was clear Brownsburg didn't fear Ben Davis and was the aggressor. At some point the Bulldogs have to break through in the playoffs.
How about the Millers? I watched all of that one as well. I won't put the cart in front of the horse as the road through the HCC will be a lot tougher than Mt. Vernon; however, it was nice to see the Millers dominate a solid Mt. Vernon team. Noblesville's secondary was swiss cheese early on as Mt. Vernon took 15-0 and 22-7 leads in the 1st Quarter. It was all Noblesville after that as the D tightened up and the enormous Miller O-Line was pancaking Marauders left and right. It was 50-22 late in the 3rd quarter when Noblesville started playing 2nd stringers in the secondary and Mt. Vernon put together 2 more nice drives. Noblesville racked up 588 rushing yards while tiny 5'5 Sophomore Logan Shoffner had 354 yards on the ground by bouncing behind the Noblesville O-Line and hitting the open field.
My humble Power Rankings after Week 1:
- Brownsburg
- Westfield
- Hamilton Southeastern
- Avon
- Noblesville
- Fishers
- Zionsville
- Franklin Central
Noblesville above fishers? Avon at 3?

That changes things a bit. Maybe Pike can sneak up on a couple of mid-tier MIC teams.
No real shame in how Warren lost to CG, pretty predictable. Was just shocked they seemed to be dragging guys off the turf all night. Conditioning?
Announcers went with “cramps” but that usually affects both teams fairly equally.
Nobody trains like CG. Always better in conditioning

Warren vs CG. Best way to start off the year. I believe this one will be close.

Did Warren have a scrimmage game Friday? If so I would love to know who they played an how they did.
I do not believe they had a scrimmage. Wonder how that works with trading game tape from last night with CG.
-
Carmel? Warren Central?
-
And Cathedral would still win 5A and the “Big 4” would still win 6A. Nothing changes
-
Let’s just make 40 classes of 8 teams each. That way it’s perfectly fair for every single team and nobody has to gripe or complain. Everybody is happy. Everybody gets a “fair shot.” Problem solved. No more talk about enrollments being too large or mega schools or metro areas in the state. Thread complete.
Oh yeah and here is a plus, more state finals games to watch during thanksgiving 🙂

Actually, no. Everybody just wants an opportunity to compete in their own weight class.
Technically you would still have a huge gap between the smallest in 6A to the largest. Is it really the same weight class then? Again, there will always be cut offs that will make others say it’s not fair. It’s just how it is.

Center grove is 2500 strong and growing. Why not give the bottom eight in enrollment an opportunity? Outside of Zionsville, the other proposed schools are more than likely sitting at a stagnant population.
Is Zionsville growing? I know they are pretty much a 6A school.
-
There is always going to be a reason to change or people to feel frustrated. It is never going to fully make everyone happy. 2,200 or 2,000 students does not make a difference in my opinion. I get your reasoning, but I just don’t think this will affect things all that much. No point to do this in my opinion. If this actually goes through, then you will have schools who argue and complain that they are in the bottom of 6A when Carmel, BD, Warren, and North Central all have massive enrollments. Should we just make a class of the top 8 schools because their enrollments are that much more? Absolutely not. You can’t make accommodations for everyone.

CG and CA fit perfectly in either The MIC or THe HCC. Its the reason God created 465
Also, still waiting to see where you think Columbus North falls into all of this.

Carmel it’s perfect. CG to Westfield or noblesville, or fishers/HSE. Those are some drives!! Carmel and CG are a long drive as is.

Again, if this is actually all true, the main factor is outside of football. It’s for all around athletics.
I still believe conferences need to be considered on geographical standpoint but that’s not as common anymore.

Franklin Central just landed a coveted spot in the HCC. You really think they are going to give that up to go to The MIC? No chance.
Ben Davis, Warren Central, Pike North Central, Lawrence North and Lawrence Central all share Indianapolis city addresses. So does Tech. Tech is bigger than LN and LC so they fit right in. Its up to the city administration to fix the school and make it viable and competitive
Tech enrollment will drop back down to a 5A

Tech is at 2100. LC is 2200.

Indianapolis Tech and leave the 8th spot open. That would give MIC schools 6 guaranteed conference games
They could fill the other 3 open weeks with Cathedral, Roncalli and Chatard
Tech no way. You never know with the changing enrollments there. I would say Franklin Central fills the spot. The open 3 weeks like you said would be used for those teams and possibly an HCC school that has an open week. That would put the HCC at 9. 8 conference games and 1 non conference.

Until the HCC takes over as the premiere conference in the Midwest.
This move makes the HCC top 5-10 in the COUNTRY when all sports are considered. The country club sports maybe top 3.
A second HCC AD has now confirmed this rumor...
Who are the AD’s?

Stranger things have happened. I'll be interested to see the developments with this. For Carmel, I suppose it makes sense from a gate standpoint. Having a football schedule with Fishers, HSE, Westfield, and Noblesville on your schedule would renew old rivalries. I've just never heard those rumblings from that direction.
Center Grove...I can see that.
The Lawrences moving as a pair...I could see that.
The MIC has had six core teams since 1996, that's a long time in this day and age.
I agree. For CG it would make for some very very long drives on Friday nights. We also have to look at the other sports as well. Carmel and CG would probably enjoy a much more competitive conference in the other sports. Who knows though. I just can’t see this happening.

Sectional opponents have a huge impact on a program. Especially for a coach who just took over a program. It can make or break ya.

Good point. But he is walking into a situatrion where only two schools in the state have "2" 4 star recruits on roster
Center Grove and Bloomington South
Takes a lot more than a big time recruit.
CONFERENCE INDIANA 21
in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Posted
Conference Indiana is just so bizarre now. It’s sad know what it used to be as opposed to what it is now. Maybe one day it can be revived or the current schools can find conferences that fit them…
Anyway, Bloomington South will run through this conference this year. Not even close and won’t be tested at all. Columbus North will be 2nd and Bloomington north will come in 3rd. After that, the remaining schools will battle it out for the order. Southport and the Terre Hautes are very very very behind.
