  1. If there was a quick fix, it would have already happened.
  2. Tech has certainly changed MLB. I’m glad the end of my career is a LOT closer than the beginning.
  3. BHSS will begin playing in the HHC in individual sports and sports not call Football and Basketball during the 26-27 school year. Everything in 27-28 school year. BHSS was selected by a 6-1 vote.
  4. See everyone thought this was sarcasm, the SEVEN more beatings of this poor horse that I thought was already buried would prove my original point, I some doubt it would have ended quickly.
  5. Liberty Media is a majority owner of Live Nation. Hopefully they burn in hell, but my guess is it just gets more expensive for me, the ticket buyer.
  6. I hear you, but BHSN isn’t BHSS, and I can’t explain it, but you’ve been around long enough to know what I’m saying.
  7. I think the issue is more a 5A one, rather than geography.
  8. I somehow doubt that.
  9. Watched the Seymour regional today, I felt like Linton’s work in the weight room was the real difference in their game with Paoli. Stripes let them play and Linton could play thru it and Paoli couldn’t.
  10. Nothing but the best for Tyson and his family, best of luck Coach.
  11. In talking to some folks at the BB sectional, BNL thinks they’re dropping to 3A
  12. Traditionally we always opened with East. Back in my time it was a great week 1 game for us. 79 Seymour lost a tough one. I would LOVE to have seen them play later in the year. I think Seymour might have got them.
  13. C’mon man, I was born and raised an Owl!
  14. Some might argue traditionally, FC would win the All-Sport trophy year in and year out by finishing 2/3 in most sports and win all the CC sports. That has changed some over the years. VB and BB in particular has had some good teams. It is what it is man. Speaking of country club sports, I played Golf in HS, my coach was a great player, we always played East (Otter Creek) and North (Harrison Lakes) on the road, because our coach loved playing those courses.
  15. My main point being, I’m here for education based sports. IMG is not education based sports, it’s something entirely different and I chose not to support their business model. I’m here for the kid who’s going to end up being my insurance agent.
  16. You think IMG does this out of the goodness of their heart, these are recruiting trips. Why doesn’t anyone in Texas schedule them? I’m sure they’d have no difficulty finding suitable opponents in Texas.
  17. IMG is NOT HS Football. Congrats to New Pal I guess, I’m not sure why anyone wants to support that crap at the expense of education based sports, but to each his own.
  18. I can still confirm: HHC voted to expand the conference. BHSS is not (as of 4:55pm 3/1/26) currently/in the process of joining the HHC.
  19. Mental health issues are very real, and getting access to mental healthcare is near impossible, short of getting the police involved and who really wants to go down that path for a loved one?
  20. Latter years of Moe’s tenure South backed out of the contract twice. Moe’s gone but the leadership at Roncalli hasn’t changed. I’m sure if it behooves Roncalli they’ll make it happen, but previously BHSS has necessitated a long trip to BFE Ohio to fill a short term void left by BHSS.
  21. Not likely Roncalli does anything with BHSS, or perhaps those wounds have healed.
  22. Seymour has a large group of Hispanic immigrants. That’s what pushes them into 5A, and no I don’t see a coaching change, changing that. However political factors, both local and nationally have started changing that. At its peak, Seymour was 35%-40% Hispanics. That has been dropping the last two years. Historically Seymour has had success, the administration seems intent on a successful football program, I know the community is hungry for a successful football program, I see no reason why a coach couldn’t be successful at Seymour. Post Jeff Richey, Seymour had a couple of stepping stone coaches, not sure what happened with Moore, and it kind of becomes a stigma, but all of those coaches enjoyed some success or were about to before bailed for greener pastures. I get it, oh look Seymour’s open again. With all that being said, I’ll also state I am a firm believer that the goal of a HS FB isn’t necessarily wins v losses, a much better measure is what kind of young men is your program producing. Thats the important part for me, and of course as Lou Holtz said he was told when he showed up to South Bend, we just want to be competitive. I think Coach Papenhaus fits the bill at Seymour.
  23. Couple years removed from a conference title in FB, they’ve had to cut staff (mostly non-certified), several hundred drop in enrollment over last year, I’d guess there are tougher situations.
